*The rest of the boys have been taking turns guarding all night – wanting to know the instant their brothers get home or if any trouble finds them. PJ and McC are the two who are awake when the ninjas get home, though they'll quickly rouse the rest. They're immediately beset with questions – what happened, where have they been, are they injured, is /she/ injured? Dmps, DB, n PJ get breakfast started for everyone.*

Jendayi: *shying from everyone...it's a little unnerving to be suddenly surrounded. Give her a little bit to accept that she's safe with them and she'll relax*

Kage: *will try to answer all the questions so SM can concentrate on comforting Jendayi...he'll explain what happened, what they did, and why they didn't come back right away* We're fairly sure none of those men tracked us here.

SM: *arms wrapped around her, nuzzling the side of her head*

Deckard: *nods at Kage's explanation* That was wise. *steps up to SM, offering Jen his hand* My name is Deckard. I'm pleased to meet you. You're going to be all right now. You'll be safe here.

DB: *leans in a little* Her eyes are a funny color.

PJ: Idiot! *pulls him back*

DB: *yelps!, then huffs* What? They are!

	Jendayi: never seen a handshake, but at the offered hand and kind words she'll reach out to softly touch Deckard's fingertips. She peeks at DB and her gaze drops away Naijah: hanging back so as not to frighten her Her eyes mean she's special, Drill Boy. gives her a friendly smile. Shai: smiling too Very special. DB: *frowning, pointedly grabbing at the nothingness in front of him* Air "wielder"? How do you "wield" air? There's nothing /there/!
Duke: Nothing you can /see/. You don't remember your particulate scanners? The atmosphere is made up of invisible gases – nitrogen, oxygen, argon, carbon dioxide, plus water vapor. *though even /he's/ not sure how the child can /do/ anything with them…glances at her*

Naijah: Inriomai. They're animals.
Shai: They're /more/ than just animals.
Naijah: They're intelligent animals, able to bond with a person and give them control over an element.
Shai: They're just stories.

Naijah: An Inriomai has one person they're...compatible with. Yeh gotta find the one compatible with yeh.
Terris: *approaching the cave. He's followed what minute traces he could find of the boys, pretty sure he'd lost their trail several times. He /thinks/ traces showed them coming home, he needs to check in and ear anyways. He gasps softly when he spots the ninjas* Kagerou! Shadowmaru! *even sounds like a relieved parent*

Kage: *will hug back with one arm* And we couldn't /not/ do something. They would have killed her, they were trying to. We had to do something.
Terris: *shifts them back a little, so he can look at both of them* Tell me /exactly/ what happened and what you did. *he should be mad, and a part of him is, bit so far it sounds like he has more reason to be proud of them than mad at them.*

SM: *swallows, glancing at Kage* There was screaming, a woman in horrible pain, like she was dying. And . . . she was. There were two men stabbing her. They seemed pretty freaked. Once she stopped moving, they pulled her body back and a little girl scrambled up and took off. They'd have killed her too. We couldn't let them. Kagerou distracted them long enough for me to find the child and get us both hidden. Kagerou caught up to us, and we got cleaned up because Jendayi – that's her name - *turns to nod at the little girl…Duke is sitting with her now* - she was /covered/ in blood. We . . . we knew we couldn't risk leading anyone back to the den, so . . . we found a place to hide for the night. We just got home a little bit ago. *tucks, ears flat and hands subconsciously covering his bottom* I'm sorry . . . I know we disobeyed . . . /several/ different ways. We went outside the borders, we took on something we maybe shouldn't have, and we didn't come home right away, but . . . *looks up* . . . we /had/ to. *the whipping will be worth it, he /knows/ it will – they saved a really sweet little girl – but…h-he's /not/ looking forward to it all the same…*

Terris: *looks at Jendayi, then back at the boys* You did disobey, and you did do something dangerous...but you saved a life, and you were mindful of the lives of those here as well. You kept your cool and you took the steps necessary to stay safe and keep your family safe. ....I'm proud of both of you.

Kage: ...Thank you, sir. We truly did not disobey just to disobey, and we truly did not mean to worry you. Or anyone. *looks around at everyone else, then back at Terris* We're only sorry that we've worried you, and that we disobeyed, despite intentions.
Terris: That means a lot to me. I don't want you doing things that might get you killed or captured, but I cannot deny that you did the right thing, and handled yourselves and the situation like adults. *little snile* Like officers. *he hopes GM and Deckard understand why they /were/ in trouble and SM and Kage are not...*

*They…don't really, except maybe that the two ninjas are better trained – then and especially now – than they had been. Neither will speak up, though. Partly because it really just doesn't occur to them and partly because they "know better", even if it's subconscious. Plus they're both accustomed to SM doing things they won't/can't.*
SM: *relaxes at that, ears finally perking back up and a little grin on his face* Thank you, sir.

	Terris: from their account of what they saw and did, the difference is the ninjas planned, Deckard and GM did not and nearly got themselves and everyone else killed for it. 	DB easily does so, the rest of the boys finishing eating and then getting started on chores . . . though unless Terris says otherwise, Deckard will tell the two ninjas to get some sleep, they've earned it. Terris: The difference that counts is that they planned. They did not react without thinking through the situation. What you two did to help that woman wasn't wrong, wanting to help wasn't wrong, disobeying my rule about the boundary wasn't wrong because of /why/ you did it. What made it wrong was that you had been careless and reckless, with your own lives and with everyone else's. I know you were made to help others, and I want to see you able to do that, but you're not made of metal anymore, you can't just react, you need to think. Do you understand? *he doesn't want to make them feel bad, and he's not bringing this up to rub it in their face, but they need to see the difference....so if faced with something similar in the future, should they decide to act, hopefully they'll think it through for everyone 's sake.*

	And that will get them both pulled into a hug Jendayi: has ended up snuggled to PJ's side. SM and Kage had gone to get sleep and she kind of trailed after the guys until chores where done.
