He rests there a moment, getting used to the sensation. Its not the same, certainly, but remains an experience for him as well - somehow different from any time in shadow lifetimes.
When he feels her start squirming against him, buried as he is, he responds readily, starting with shallow withdrawals and thrusts, pulling back from fully buried inside her a couple inches, then into her again, slowly increasing the friction every few thrusts, til he's moving easily enough to let it return to near normal.
