He lets her take them. The card he was working on is reasonably festive, with the front reading, 'All I want for Christmas is...', with the inside giving her a short, numbered list, all blank currently. The intent there is obvious.
Within the packages... one is technically for him, but why he'd let her open it becomes obvious... a pair of 'Christmassy' boxers, red satin, with a design of mistletoe right over the fly.
The other packages contain a little 'Santa's Helper' hat, with a note suggesting that this is more or less the entirety of her Christmas outfit, and a set of red and green fuzzy handcuffs.
