Emergency services and the police had been informed. Tess had made sure there'd be the specialists made available to the hostages would be briefed on what they'd gone through.

Tess had cleaned and treated her skin. Her forearm was bandaged.

...She was still so tense. It wasn't that she couldn't handle the pain -- damn straight it wasn't! -- it was that she still felt so locked down.

He's dressed in a matter of seconds, calls in the order - her soup, and a substantial lunch for him, then holds her a little longer, before rushing out to pick up the order and rush it back, still hot.
