"I've got a second pencil," he says. In case Jai also wants to fidget with something. Because this is an extremely awkward conversation, and it occurs to him that he doesn't have nearly enough tissues in his bag for this, so it might have to move to the bathroom for what poor substitute toilet paper will serve.
