Past RP Experience: Specific comms? Please don’t ask me to fetch all those links, I’ve been rping off and on through several different genres for about five years, I’ve even played with a few people here. Character Name: Kin Tsuchi Age: 27 Sexuality: Bisexual Role in company: Lawyer. She makes sure everything is legal with the company, while snuffing out any potential legal trouble before it becomes an issue. PB: Beth Riesgraf Background History: Kin is the adopted daughter of a money hungry, slightly shady lawyer named Kaito Tsuchi and his wife, Keiko Tsuchi. They both came to America when they were children, and still kept true to a large portion of their culture, even as Kaito submerged himself in the legal world of America to become a lawyer. The man dedicated himself to his business and money, more and more money and prestige, though you wouldn’t be able to tell from the family’s simple home; extravagance was never Kaito’s goal in life. The two were happy, and successful until just five years after Kaito started his own law firm, after a highly-publicized case wherein Kaito not only stopped a proven wifebeater from going to prison; but also sued the wife for several million dollars for court costs and character defacement. The media labeled him and his firm as sexist, moral-less, souless men who didn’t care about families or their fellow man at all. So Kaito and his fellow lawyers did some work for the usual charities, donated as little money as possible, and made the proper apologies, but still it wasn’t enough. So, in an effort to ‘kill two birds with one stone’ and make his wife and the public happy they adopted a baby. The little blonde thing wasn’t even their ethnicity, it was supposed to show they were truly accepted and open minded. Or something. Surprisingly, the little thing really did grow on them, especially Keiko, who had wanted a child for some years before the whole scandal erupted. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Kin, mixed culture and all, didn’t have the most normal childhood, and though she was fully aware of it, it never seemed to bother her. She spoke fluent Japanese, English and Spainish(necessary for the region they lived in) by the time she was thirteen, and was a very active girl, taking Gymnastics, Martial Arts, Archery (her personal favorite), and extra tutoring to make sure she was ahead of her peers at the private school she attended. If some of the Japanese kids that her parents wanted her to spend time with that were from prestigious, wealthy families ostracized her for being different then she never said anything, and if she got into fights down in the Asian district for being a ‘wannabe Japanese’ then her parents never brought it up. Kaito raised his daughter to be the top, the best in everything she did no matter the cost, and if that meant that she had to resort to violence to get the respect of her peers; then so be it. Kaito made sure his daughter wasn’t naïve about the outside world, though she wanted for nothing and had as much protection as her little heart desired(although that was usually very little) he taught her that nearly every person on the street would take everything from her to keep for themselves if they could. He was training her to be a lawyer like himself, and taught her how to analyze cases, everything from criminal and sexual to simpler cases like fraud and money laundering. Much to Keiko’s relief, he waited for such lessons until she was 13 or so, but Kin never really wanted to play house with the other kids anyway. She wanted puzzles and challenges, wanted the spark of pride when she beat someone and was more content listening in on her father’s meetings than playing with dolls. The girl spent two years in public schools—her Junior and Senior year of High school before going into college—that her father insisted were necessary for her in order to ‘know the sorts of people she would be dealing with’, and it was there that Kin spread her wings. Her private schools had been small, the chances for enemies or practicing her manipulating talents on the ‘lesser ones’ were few and people were boring, truthfully presenting little challenges. They were all too quiet, to reserved or too ignorant and sheltered. The men were gutsy with nothing to back it up and the girls were frilly and not nearly driven enough to be respected, and even if they were, they didn’t know what they wanted. Public schools though, now those were fun. Not only did Kin get to feed her love of violence—the private passion her father had only half-heartedly encouraged—with people that had their own styles of fighting that weren’t always ‘fair’ per se, but here were cunning people who were walking their own path and unafraid to trick, lie, steal, or otherwise con others in order to get what they wanted. They knew how harsh the world was, and used it to their advantage whenever possible. She could work with this kind of material. For a teenager, her rebellions were small; fighting too much, collecting weapons almost obsessively(and developing a rather odd obsession with bells that alarmed her father), dying her hair blonde, gambling on occasion as she hit eighteen, refusing to ever have a clean room and mouthing off to important guests at dinners. Largely, she was daddy’s little girl, going to an elite law school and over achieving while interning as a third year student, excelling at her lessons and only getting bad marks for her attitude(“I don’t need this class, in fact, I’ll ace whatever assignment you give without coming to any lectures. Bring it, old man.”) and constant need to challenge her professors and even other students, thinking that she could do better than them. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

She was so dedicated to being the best of her class, she even stayed in college for the majority of her father’s battle with cancer, and only came home when the summer time came to comfort her mother during his last few weeks. This took place between her third and forth year, and she delayed going back to school for six months to take care of Keiko before returning to frantically catch back up to her peers and graduate with them. It was through her father’s network of contacts that she found out about the company in Reno(just a few states away from where she was currently living) that was growing and needed a company lawyer, and if the company had to specialize in Pornography, it only meant more dollar signs to her. With little more than a kiss to her mother’s cheeks she was off before she even got the job, so confident that she would ‘nail it’, forgive the pun. Personality, Likes & Dislikes: Kin is, firstly and above all else, a cocky individual, though not without reason. She is a good strategist, she thinks five steps ahead and prides herself on being able to predict how a person will react and what they will do based on their past and their personality. Whether it is a criminal, a rival lawyer, or a friend, she isn’t content unless she is figuring out a dozen ways to best them, cornering her ‘opponent’ with a dozen different attacks so that they have nowhere else to turn; like scared rabbits. Kin loves ribbons and the color purple, this has been so for years and as of yet no one has had the guts to ask why because on that same note she loves violence. Her father put her in Karate and Judo classes to make sure she was able to defend herself, and further submerge her in his culture, he did not anticipate she would enjoy it as much as she did or be quite as ruthless in the pursuit of her hobby. Though she keeps this particular interest behind closed doors—or at least, away from the cameras and prying eyes—she has never quite dropped it. Though few know it, Kin can be a rather superstitious individual, and this is one of the reasons that she keeps a bell with her at all times, to ward off evil spirits, or so she says anyways. She also says it’s very peaceful, and helps her meditate, and all it takes is one glare and whoever Is doubting her explanation usually shuts their mouth. One good thing about her is that she will admit her faults, if only to prove that she is just as fierce and amazing with them and to further force herself to exceed them or compensate. For instance; she is, without a doubt, a sore loser. At twenty-five she will still narrow her eyes, cross her arms over her chest, and storm away if she feels as if she has taken a blow to her pride, and will plot revenge for whatever humiliation she feels she has suffered. Kin never forgives, and she never forgets, and she holds grudges for a very, very long time. It is childish, yes, but it can’t be helped. Her sense of humor is…odd, if she isn’t very relaxed then her jokes sound more like insults, and the recipient has to really pause and think about it before realizing she was trying to be funny. Once she relaxes though it can be easily seen that she is just teasing, you just have to have thick skin and quick wit to be able to keep up. For such a career driven person, she is oddly disorganized and she likes clutter, though it drove her father crazy, she is more comfortable in a messy apartment or house than anywhere else. This is another reason she tends to work alone; no one else can figure out her strange, scattered system. Most importantly, Kin has few friends because she was always taught to use people, and not many have ever tried to get past her impersonal side, so ninety person of her time is devoted to work, and the other ten percent is mixed between fighting/weapons, sleeping, music, and occasionally drinking with the few people she calls friends. When it comes to Kin, her respect is hard to earn, but once you’ve succeeded she will do just about anything for you, and is much less likely to blackmail you or something of that nature, which is always a pleasant thing. She loves cats, because their love and devotion is earned, and they remind her of herself. Plus, they aren’t really needy like dogs, which are just annoying. For her, who is so focused on challenging herself and getting farther, relationships have fallen to the wayside. In fact, truthfully, Kin has never had a legitimate boyfriend, sure, she’s had sex a few times, but even that was brushed aside as unimportant. After all, what was really gained from it? Other than money for some of course, but that just wasn’t her thing. She liked to flirt at times, but only with men she knows well, and the girl can appreciate good eyecandy when presented to her without a doubt, she just hasn’t had good incentive to devote any real effort into the opposite sex. Perferring to appear calm and in control at all times, Kin is secretly very aware of what people think of her, and hates to appear flustered or upset. Sample Post: First Person So I had an interesting discussion with a man today at SIX AM, about how he is going to sue the company because his daughter began discussions with us at 17—though she didn’t sign anything and we didn’t let her see anything—until she was 18. Good luck with that buddy. Also, a word to everyone, don’t ever, EVER, call me at six am. Okay? I’m busy, although someone in the condo next to mine likes to blast workout music at 6:30 and that shit needs to stop, Orion and I do not like having our day disturbed by some overly cheerful woman talking about “step up, step down, left right aaand punch!!” What kind of drugs is she on, and when can I stab her in the face with them? Mother called today, and though it was very nice to hear from her I nearly started hitting myself in the head with a nearby book when she reminded me to clean my house up, but her sigh was oddly comforting when I told her that there are new forms of life under my bed and it would be an injustice for me to end their existence just for her peace of mind. Third Person Kin’s zori made odd noises as she semi-power walked through the back door of Feel Good to one of the filming studios, where she had been summoned rather abruptly half an hour ago. The blonde was obviously none too pleased with being ordered to come to Studio 12 immediately, but had no choice but to give in regardless of her wounded pride at being bossed around like a servant. Not too mention the odd looks she was getting from some of the actors who obviously didn’t know her—which wasn’t surprising, she was new, and didn’t mingle with them overly much anyway—and she really didn’t blame them, after all, she was wearing traditional yukata and ‘geisha shoes’ with her hair pinned up and too elaborate makeup painted on her face. It was too much, but she had wanted to go all out for her final tea lesson before going home to show her mother. God where was her boss, why did he call her in here just to make her wait?! “Hey I didn’t know we had a geisha theme today, cool!” A red haired guy, half nude had the audacity to walk up to her, with some horrible, barbaric form of a ‘swagger’, a cocky smile on his face as he took in her form and a look of disgust formed on her face, “Step away from me, I am not a part of this filming.” It was more polite than she had thought she could muster and she was rather pleased with herself, as the man was finally becoming uncomfortable with her glaring, “Uh, then why’re you dressed like that?” “I was summoned here in the middle of a Tea lesson, not that it is any of your business.” For some reason, she really wanted it known that she wasn’t simply gallivanting around town dressed like this, “Tea lesson? Why the hell would you take a tea lesson?” Her eyes closed for a moment and she felt her patience wearing thin as she sorely hoped that this man wasn’t planning on reproducing anytime soon because that was definitely not a good idea, “Because it is traditional for Japanese women much younger than myself to be able to give a proper tea presentation.” “Japa—wha?” The oaf was cut off as her boss finally came from one of the smaller rooms usually used for makeup and such, pulling a cellphone from his ear and waving to her, “Ah! Miss Tsuchi, I just got a call from the health department and they said that our permits have expired and we cannot legally film without them! I thought you had these things taken care of?” Even though his tone was jovial she knew he was serious, and would be rather angry with her if she didn’t remedy the situation, and she felt her irritation rise because there shouldn’t have been a situation in the first place. Of all the incompetent people she had to work with in her life, the Nevada health department had to be the worse by far. She straightened her back and felt her fists tighten inside her too big sleeves before jerking her head to the side, “You, runner!” that’s what employees jokingly called the people who seemed to exist solely for running things and messages back and forth in the building, from one section or the other, “Go to my office and go into the silver filing cabinet, bring me the 2010 manilla folder under B, hustle!” “B, Miss Tsuchi?” Her boss looked confused at her words, not at all phased at her sharp commands that she had just issued out to the young man that had just frantically darted out the door. “For bureaucratic bullshit sir, I know I filed those permits in January, those documents will prove it, I’ll fax them into the agent who called you within the hour after you verify them yourself.” He offered her a satisfied smile and patted her on the shoulder before yelling out to the rest of the set, “Okay you bums back to work, we’re rolling in 15!” (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
