JSA ORIGINS: Zor-L
"Eros, my child," Aphrodite cooed, "You have but one choice."

"Mother, are you sure?"

"I am.  I shall speak with Zeus in your name, my child."

And so Eros waited on bated breathe as his mother requested to speak with Zeus, King of Olympus.  She returned the next day with a grim expression on her face, and Eros assumed the worst had happened.

"Mother?"

"I am sorry, my child."

"Does this mean I cannot?"

"It means that you can.  But to do so, you must relinquish all that you are."

"I...  Alright."

"Are you sure?"

"I am."

Aphrodite was still for a moment.  Her expression was not happy or sad; it was neutral.  It was wholly uncharacteristic of the Goddess of Love.  She could not be blamed, however.  She was, in fact, losing her son to the likes of a mortal woman.  Eros gave his mother one last embrace, and then allowed all that he was to be removed and re-shaped into a mortal shell on Earth.
