1. Halbjorn made another attempt to introduce Griffen to some lovely young women of his acquaintance. To everyone's surprise, this time Griffen, who'd been having no luck on his own, accepted.
2. Discovering this perceived weak link into the Defenders, Alfrun killed Griffen's date and took her place. Her plots were eventually foiled, but led to Griffen's death.
3. Blaming himself, Halbjorn followed the ancient tales, and requested Odin bond the two of them to let Griffen live again.
4. More able to navigate mortal society in his "secret identity" Griffen/Halbjorn became a more active super hero, mild-mannered computer nerd able to get into places and learn things a 7' barbarian couldn't, then able to transform into the God of Rage to deal with the situation.
5. The two were eventually separated again, with Griffen given a new lease on life and a godly perspective. As far as anyone can tell, Halbjorn didn't learn anything.
