Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
YOUR BODY IS SUPPOSED TO GO BACK TO NORMAL AFTER YOU HAVE THE BABY, WHAT IS THIS RIDICULOUS NONSENSE---SOMEONE OUGHT TO BE---I BET A MAN SAID THAT, MEN NEVER HAVE TO GIVE BIRTH----

You know, life has been much, much more quiet since we've had little Daphne around. Which, if you think about, is rather counter-intuitive being that babies are supposed to cry a lot. But she doesn't! She's actually rather angelic. I, on the other hand, can no longer blame my rampant and out-of-control hormones on the fact that I am carrying another life, or anything besides my own temperamental and out-of-control self. Honestly, I kind of hoped that it was just hormones that were making me out to be so mental, but! I suppose nine months is a long time to go without acting independently of your own id. Or is it ego? Muggle psychology--now that's mental.

Also, I have stretchmarks. GIANT HUGE MAP-OF-THE-UNDERGROUND-AND-EVERY-OTHER-MUGGLE-TRANSPORTATION-ROAD-MAP-SYSTEM-THINGS-EVER SPANNING EVERY INCH OF EVERY These things are battle scars, let me tell you, so no one better be getting any funny ideas.

[CECILIA] I know I've been pestering you since before the baby was born, but things have finally settled down here. Dinner, next weekend? You can rant to me about your life and I can tell you about the bastards idiots who threw bricks through my window![/CECILIA]

[NICK]Your presence is required next weekend. Inquire in for further details.[/NICK]

She won't hate me! And she doesn't hate you either, no matter how much she wants you to think that. Besides, she's grown up now I think! All graduated and living on her own, that must have done something to widen her worldview.

I am tired of having my siblings at odds, and for no real reason, so far as I can see. Additionally, there will be at least two buffers there, one being my very young baby. Everyone loves babies, Nicholas Hooke, and mine is damn near irresistible.

Please?

She doesn't respect Madeleine or the kids, Adamina, and she's made it pretty clear to me that she doesn't want me poking around in her business.

I don't think it's a good idea. Young babies like yours shouldn't be around the sort of yelling she and I generate, anyway.

Well, the very foundation of her life has been built on... not choosing the life you chose to live, so to speak. And as much as I hate to say this of my sister, one step at a time is the most we can hope to ask for, but. She's never going to give Madeleine or Mina, Natalia, and Nick a chance if she doesn't have one with you. And you know subtlety is a lost cause on her. If this doesn't cause her one small change of heart, I promise I will stop trying to meddle as much. But let her know she has that small chance with you, won't you?

Tim is under strict instructions to take Daphne and hide if things escalate beyond control. Which they won't.

You think too highly of Cecilia and me.

I will come to dinner, but if this ends up disastrous because there is no other way it could possibly end up then that's it.

I do. But you are my siblings, it is sort of my place to do so.

And thank you.

I tend to trust the power of personal experience more.
