On The Edge Of A Dream That You've Had
As far as the eye can see, there is a vast, endless wheat field. The golden stalks ripple in a gentle breeze as if a burnished sea, carrying carrying with it the scent of saltwater and sand. In the far distance - just beyond the trees over yonder - there is the sound of crashing waves just under that of crying gulls.

A dirt path crosses the center of the field, passing a tree. The tree itself is gnarled, warped, and looks like something that threatens to fall over at even the slightest of breezes. Yet, it bares the sweetest-smelling peaches that could ever be imagined...

... or dreamed. This is a dream, can't you tell...?...

... or maybe it isn't...

... a wooden panel strung between two pieces of rope dangle from one of the tree's branches; a crude swing. It sways back and forth in the breeze.

To the North, there is the sound of crashing waves. To the South, a mountain range.

Where will you go?

[Not your dream. Not your world. Not your rules.

But, it is quite curious, isn't it? To find oneself staring into her own face and it not being a mirror image. It is a curiosity that is going to keep this situation from getting... very out of hand.

Two stocking'd feet appear in the branches, swinging back and forth as the elder girl - because she does look older. More mature. Curvy in places she shouldn't. Someone's been letting herself go in the way that Attollo effects some of the younger residents -- leans down and offers the other a guarded sort of glance.]

They're mine, aren't they~?

[It's a Rhode's, isn't it? Close enough~. And she's sure she can make it her dream if she wants to... but she doesn't feel like testing that theory. Not right now. Things might get tense if she did.

The furtive smile that had been on her face drifts away once the elder Rhode makes herself visible, however, and is replaced by a look of wary surprise. Someone certainly has been letting herself go strange ways. She doesn't like it. And of course the peaches are hers, but there is such a difference between owning something and making use of it.]

Mm~. But have you tried one?

[So long as the younger Rhode doesn't mention the elder Rhode's current form, then everything might come out peachy keen.

She offers the younger girl a scathing sort of look. She could only dream of looking so young again - and unfortunately, not even that is working for her.

[Oh, she won't bring it up. Not now, not ever— because talking about it brings attention to it, and she does not want to pay attention to it. It isn't right and it unnerves her.

But that's a little catty of you, now isn't it, Rhode? Don't think things like that or you'll begin to sound older, too. And back comes her cheery smile, as she leans back on the rickety swing to glance up at those best-peaches.]

If I have one, will they still taste good~?
