I've decided to do art commissions to earn a little extra money and help improve my skills. I sketch/draw, paint, and am working on photography. I've got a portfolio to look at, and pricing would be dependent upon what's being commissioned--obviously the more intricate the work, the pricier it'll be. I can do portraits, still life, or even just a personal design or whatever else you might want. Just comment here or on any other entry in the future if you want a commissioned piece of art.

That's really interesting.

Wh How so? Artists do it all the time.

Well, I didn't know you were an artist. That makes it interesting to me.

Oh. Yeah. Well, I am. At least, I'd like to be. Don't know if others see it that way.

Well if you think you are then you are, yeah? It's about what you believe in yourself.

I guess so. I doubt I'll ever be like one of the masters (at least, not now. Maybe when I'm dead, though), but I think it'd be wicked to have a gallery showing at some point in my life.

I think it would be wicked too. I have an idea but I think you hate me half the time so I don't want to weird

Maybe you should post some of your art. I've seen it done in the journals before.

Maybe. I don't know how I feel about using spell-o tape on them, though. If I take them out, they might rip or something. But I'll consider it.

You could protect them with a spell, I'm sure. Just a simple modified repairing charm, though I think spell-o tape is supposed to not rip things.

Maybe. I might look into it and try it with things I don't want to put in my portfolio.

I don't think I have any, but that'd be because I make a habit of keep a sketch pad of some sort on me at all times in case inspiration hits.

I don't know when I'll be able to, with the Hogsmeade trips all buggered up. But we should be able to figure something out...I'll let you know, yeah?

What mediums do you focus on?

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]jamienotmorty
2008-01-22 09:32 pm UTC (link)
Yeah all right.

Predominately pencil/ink and paper, usually in black and white because it's cheapest, honestly, but I like charcoal for some things. I also like water colour and have recently gotten into acrylic and photography.

Oh, I've wanted to get into charcoal for a while. Maybe over the summer I'll start up. I'm sure dad will love that.

Oh, you wouldn't say that if you saw my flat.

Actually, it's kind of just a room. With something resembling a couch though I'm not sure if it ever really was one. Hmm. Oh! And a hotplate.

Real cozy.

Ahaha, never! But it's not about that! I talked to Professor Flitwick and he was all like 'Oh Morti---Jamie! Jamie, I mean, I do recall how much he loathed it when I made that mistake---of course, he'd be splendid!' and he was totally talking about you coming in for a few rehearsals and taking pictures (and maybe like the official shots for the advertising (WE'RE GOING TO BE ADVERTISING)) for Grease and IF YOU WANT HE SAID YOU COULD OWL HIM TO NEGOTIATE PRICES AND STUFF AJDGNSKDJGM YAY ISN'T THAT COOL?

Alright.

Just...don't leave anything with Susan when you come in.

Or Roger.

Or Matthew.

As a matter of fact, just send the stuff to my apartment. I'll set up some sort of display...thing.

Yeah, I know.

You know, you could put it up with some art book displays maybe. And I did buy some of them, and they helped with making some things, so it wouldn't be false advertising or whatever.

[info]madducks
2008-01-23 07:51 pm UTC (link)
You know, that's actually a really good idea.

Tell me again why the hell you're not working here? Seriously. These kids are killing me.

They don't even know where the art books are.

And no, I am NOT being dramatic. They think that the kid's picture books are art books.

[info]jamienotmorty

Because I'm working at the Leaky? People tip there, you know. But then, you could always hire me part time and talk to Mum and Dad about it, saying you need help, etc. if you really need a reprieve from your current employees.

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

[info]madducks

Mortimer...

I don't think you understand...

They think that that kid's picture books...are art books.

So yes, I need a reprieve from my current employees.

When would you be able to start if I talk to Mum and Dad?
