Wow, the last week has been completely chaos. I don't think I've relaxed for more then an hour. Between setting up the new network and making sure it transitioned over correctly, to working at the barn, finishing up TinyMeat.com to working at Small Dog...it's crazy...

Finally today I had a semi-relaxing day. The power did go out in the Valley so I had to go and reboot a few servers. I do enjoy how my Xserve (and most any Apple computer) just reboots itself when power is restored. Fantastic feature.

The new IP address are all set. It's a good thing they gave me more then I had originally requested. I have used all 6-7 of them up already haha The setup itself was pretty simple, although confusing. My ISP required me to be using PPPoE when it should have simply been modem in bridge mode, from the modem into a switch and then out to the individual servers. Of course not, they like to make it nice a difficult! It only took me about 2 hours or so to set it all up though and change DNS over to the new addresses. I was surprised, quite easy! I think planning it out a bit helped too.

So now Scribbld is public and most anyone can use it, of course if you're going to use it, you should let me know cause it doesn't work correctly when registering users. Your password doesn't get copied into the correct table. I absolutely hate SixApart. Ever since they took LiveJournal it went to hell. The open source end of it is absolutely horrid. I'm not going to spend time whinning about it though because nothing will change.

I got my hands on Bioshock, The Darkness and Overlord. I've only played a small amount of Bioshock but WOW. I thought the graphics in Gears of War were outstanding, but I think Bioshock just surpasses that. They're really crazy good. I am not sure if I really understand the story in Bioshock, I should probably read up about it, but so far it's a really awesome, gruetesque game. I have a feeling [info]makkintosshu would like this game, but I am not so sure about Keith. I have a feeling he'd really enjoy the graphics and stuff, and maybe the gameplay and stuff...er maybe he would like it I have no idea haha

As mentioned I got Overlord and that too is a great game. Essentially you're a dark lord and you command a small army of minions and they do whatever you tell them. You go through and pillage and destroy most anything in your path and complete various objectives. The graphics are actually quite decent and whenever I see this fat Marvin king guy I cringe. He's absolutely disgusting! Even [info]emilie is playing it!

I haven't started up The Darkness but I did play the demo and it looks like a really cool game. We'll just have to see.

Emilie and I watched Sunshine last night. It was really interesting. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Although when you say the main plot is "the scientists have a mission to re-ignite the sun" it sounds like it should be a really cheesy movie. It's not, I thought it was decent.

We also saw Stranger then Fiction which was actually quite strange. It wasn't bad though, enjoyable and sometimes funny. It had Donnie Darko's sister in it, so that was cool.

Well I'd say once MRTG is configured it'll truly be time to sit back and let things run themselves. I can't wait!!

Tomorrow is barn day. We actually did go and see the horses today but only briefly. Tomrrow maybe I can get some riding in.
