Halo 3 Beta - Starting Now!
Last night I realized that May 16th was just the next day. I was thinking that the 16th fell on this coming Friday. It was a really nice surprise. I've been waiting to play a good game for a couple months now. I've beaten Gears of War enough and while Burnout Revenge is a blast I needed something else.
This morning at 3am I received my Halo 3 Beta invite (of course I was sleeping so I didn't get to it until 7am). I waited probably 30-45 minutes for the downloads to finish (it's about 900MBs) and then I logged in and started to play!
I only clocked in one game but it sure was a lot of fun. The graphics are amazing, the controls are something I need to personally get used to, but once I understand how they work, it'll be nice. I am too used to playing Gears of War and using its controls. I couldn't grab one of the vehicles but they looked very cool! I did managed to snag 2 different weapons besides the assault rifle, one laser-like gun and one that shot-out blue balls of energy. I'll have to look on the Bungie website for their exact names.
The level itself was pretty small but it was really cool. It was a snow level and when grenades exploded snow would go flying up, very neat!
I've only played one game so far, but for the next month or so I plan on playing many many more. I was actually hoping the Halo 3 beta would be of the single player game, but it's not. I am more of single player gamer unless I am gaming with people I know. I cannot wait for the final game which I believe is supposed to be out on September 25th!
I'll post more thoughts as I continue playing the game!
