I look into the eyes of love, and know that I belong.
Christmas Day with Team Morgenstern. The halls were decked, and gay apparel was absolutely donned.

Jay and his mother came -- Mom and Dad had asked, and occasional disagreements or not, Mrs. Sayers had a hard time saying no when they asked.

As soon as they were at the door, Clara pounced "Jaaaaaay!" As hugtackles go, it was reasonably skilled.

She beams and gets out a paper to hand him. It'll be shorter than, say, Ruth's, despite being hand-lettered in blue ink instead of typed. Each i and j is dotted with a tiny star, for reasons of Clara.

'I believe that just like all atoms were forged in stars and then scattered to evolve into everything, all individual souls are the different things from a common source, just trying to fill all the niches and fit together right.
I believe we're collectively not very good at it. But that's okay. It gets better. And I'm here to help.'

"I did the best job I could on it," Clara explains. "I just don't think they need to be too long."

"Well, its not quite as big as your sister's, but then you're not quite as big as her either." he starts, with a small grin.

"You did a great job. And what's important is what it means to you. I think it sounds right."

"Yeah, long as I stick to my offseason training workouts, I can eat pretty much anything again. Besides, no way I'd miss the holiday desserts here, its always the best part. Even if your dad watches too close for us to try and sneak dessert first again."
