Rescuing Avalon
It is more difficult than he expected to enter the dream-realm through his ring, particularly bringing Josh along. Leaving Katima behind to guard Avalon's body had been a last-minute decision: Henry realized that it wouldn't be beyond Malicor to go after Avalon's body while everyone was trying to find his sleeping mind.

So this was going to just be Josh and Henry.

Focusing his will, folding space around so that they can slip into a parallel universe where dreamers go... without knowledge of the metaphysics of the environment, it's much more difficult to visualize. And without visualization, it's harder to make it come to pass.

But that doesn't matter. He's going after Avalon. He's bringing Josh with him.

He closes his eyes, focusing his will, even as sweat begins to pour off of his body from the effort.

He is going after Avalon. Now.

NOW.

A snarl of focus that becomes a scream of effort... and then...

The world shifts. Josh and Henry stand in an open space. The sky seems simultaneously day and night, as dusk and dawn are on all horizons. In the distance, several trees sway to unheard music, which can be tasted on the wind.

Shadows swirl on the ground around them, creating disconcerting and profane patterns. The patterns don't form anything specific, yet they somehow disturb Henry, like they're something from a deep, reptilian nightmare.

Henry catches his breath and wipes the sweat from his brow. "I... think we managed it..."

Well.. there isn't a "just on the other side". The ring pulls them through the rock and then downwards, down through layer upon layer of stone and rock that could never be passed through without a Power Ring. In fact, it speeds up, dragging them farther and farther through the layers of rock as things start to grow chilly. On Earth, things would have been heating up as they went so far down.. though by the time the boys come out of the rock, it's so cold that their breath hangs in the air before their faces and it's enough to make anyone shiver. The ring then starts down a short hallway that leads in to a bigger cave-like room.

The room is fairly small and claustrophobic, though mostly barren with a stone floor and steep tall walls. In the dark, pressed up against a wall and wrapped in feathers is a rather familiar figure.

The sudden light makes Avalon raise his head and he blinks a bit owlishly at Henry and Josh, not quite sure if he should believe that it's really them.. or if Malicor is playing tricks on him again.

	Josh holds on tight to Henry for the trip. The whole intangible thing always gives him a shiver. He lets out an actual pained noise when he finally gets a lock on Ava. The moment they're solid and settled, he rushes to kneel at Avalon's side. "Ava, hold still. I'll heal you," he says, starting to glow with that usual white light of his. For a second, Avalon actually starts to panic. Malicor has messed with his head before, playing out something very similar to this situation... the only thing that was different was that Malicor didn't know about Josh's healing powers, and the moment Josh touches him with that familiar tingly white light, he starts to calm. All in all, he's not all that badly abused - save for a big nasty brand of the Agent Orange symbol on the right side of his throat and missing half of his left wing from the farthest joint towards the tips of where his feathers would end. He's dirty and bloody but it's safe to say that Henry really got it a lot worse than he did.. at least just by appearances of things.

He's too upset to even remember his English, he just starts babbling in his native language, though it's hard to understand even through translators. He wedges himself up between the two other boys and actually oes something that seems a bit out of his usual character - he bursts into big heaving sobs which eventually eclipse all his efforts at speaking.

Josh cries as well but he's quiet, focusing on healing. That brand is removed quickly and then Josh turns his attention to Ava's wing. "Ava..." he murmurs, placing a hand on either side of the wing near the wound.

"Might...want to shield your eyes," he murmurs to the others, taking a deep breath. A wing is a bit more complex and bigger than a finger. Pouring power and emotion in, Josh heals Avalon's wings. Just like with Henry's finger, the wing regrows bone first and then by layer. When all is said and done, Ava's got a brand new wing with some pristine feathers. Josh meanwhile sags against the other two guys, trying to catch his breath.

	Henry holds them both upright. He whispers to Avalon in his broken Naltorian, "It is okay... we have you. You are safe now." He takes Avalon's hand and gently slides the blue ring back into place. "All is well," he tells him, still in Naltorian. He gives Josh another hug, too. "Good work, Josh..." he tells him, holding them both close. "Good work... (Reply to this)(Parent)
