The Great Arctic Blast of 2008 is ending... @ 11:47 am
I CAN SEE ROOFTOPS AND YARDS AND DRIVEWAYS FROM MY HOUSE!!!
We're actually going to LEAVE THE HOUSE at some point today!
Due to the still copious amounts of gravel all over, we're still driving the van rather than the car, but OMG we're ALL getting out at the same time for the first time in a WEEK.
Geeze. Entitlement, much? Our area workers were just about killing themselves, working 12 on, 12 off to get the roads as clear as possible, get the power up as quickly as possible, driving buses that slid and trains that wanted to ice over AS BEST AS THEY COULD to get people going best they can, and THIS is the reaction?
I want to kick someone's ass right now. Sure, not everyone got the power back yet, but it's not because the workers are sitting around smoking a joint and drinking and blowing them off! There are some really steep hills around here that equipment simply cannot GET to in any timely manner. Hell, we had the NATIONAL GUARD having to come out to help with emergency services, it's how bad it was. WE DON'T GET THIS WEATHER OR SNOW AND WE DO NOT HAVE THE EQUIPMENT OR STAFF FOR IT. Once every forty years. GAH!!!!

Well, I worked myself up into quite a lather there. Time to hit the showers. :)
