Overwhelmed with the Ordinary

I don't know why... @ 12:47 pm

Current Mood: loved

maybe it's because people lately have asked me how it is we are still happily married nearly seventeen years later...

...but I've been feeling super lovey-dovey and tender with my guy lately. It's almost like that feeling you'd get when your new boyfriend would call you on the phone - that sense of excitement and a jump in your heart. Except mine goes deeper than that - the maturity of years, maybe, or a solid base behind it, but I love him. So much. With all my heart.

I had a friend (she has an LJ but hasn't used it in years - I hook up with her on Facebook these days) who came to stay for a few days with us for a party and she told me, "You can tell you two are in love, just the way you look at each other."

::melty::

Doesn't matter than I swoon over guys who are twenty-five years older than I am, and even worse, swooning over them as they were thirty years ago, he knows who I really go to bed with. And he wants me to be happy, to do the things that make me feel accomplished and pleased.

My god, I'm in love.

Too many cons @ 04:08 pm

Current Mood: peaceful

not enough money. I need to be independently wealthy. **nods firmly**

Is it Sunday afternoon already? Bummer. I need a week off. **nods firmly again** Maybe I'll take a day or two off this week if there's room in the schedule, just to not have to focus on anything but me. Cuz I'm selfish that way.

Did find another pair of jeans and a pair of capris, on clearance, at Fred Meyer. The two together only cost $35 and now I have a pair of short pants to wear to FL.

FORTY ONE MORE DAYS!!

My car needs seat covers. I want zebra ones. Trying to track a set down locally. Heh. My van has Geckos!

Daddy is taking the kids to the park with their bikes. I'm in nice, quiet, solitude. AAhhhh.....

Vids submitted to Escapade. @ 04:34 pm

Current Mood: accomplished
Current Music: I Am What I Am - Gloria Gaynor

Not a coma or gloomy one among them. *G*

Geeze, I'm posting a lot today @ 09:17 pm

Current Mood: busy
Current Music: Viva La Vida - Coldplay

She's not here, she's in Disneyworld, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY to [info]onci_dium anyway! Hope Mickey is giving you a good time! (Don't wear him out, leave some for me!)

Watching the Grammys, which are delayed for us out here West coast who don't have live east coast feeds. Meh. Katie's waiting here on my bed for Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift (and the Jonas Brothers, too...I have a teenager.) Oh, she just chose to use one of her iTunes credits for "Fifteen". I like Taylor, too. :)

In the hopes that it will solve the intermittent problem with my ability to use my keyboard at a regular typing speed, we obtained a powered USB hub. The one I had before ran off the laptop - and it hubs both of my external hard drives, the printer, and the external cooling fan/pad. We're hoping this will ease the strain on the USB controllers and stop the keyboard slow-downs. It has done pretty well the last few weeks (knock wood) but did another little slowdown today - not enough to be a problem but enough to make me notice, so we grabbed a $20 hub from Freddy's. If it happens again, then we'll try other things. Or get a new laptop. This one is 2.5 years old now. Covered in DMB and Obama stickers, she is.

Roy also finally hooked up my UPS machine, which not only will help protect my equipment, but largely opens up the old power strip so that I have holes for all the things we need to recharge - three cell phones, the palm, the camera...we were doing some creative placements. Let's see, what all do I have plugged in...

work computer, my computer, external monitor, two external HDs, hub, printer, external disc/lightscribe burner, telephone charger base, radio, lamp...and then we charge the camera, my Palm, and cell phones.

Geeze.

**snerk** I've got [info]mrshamill vidding. And our daughter. I'm evil that way.

OH! I had a dream last night. Now, mind, Friday night we were watching an episode of Long Way Down, and it was the one where they catch George Clooney on tv via the BBC news, testifying about Darfur, and I'm THISCLOSE to finishing my second reading of [info]smudley's Survival of the Fittest, an Emergency! and Starsky & Hutch crossover.

So in my dream, I'm in the same room with this man, who seems to be older, but has the energy of the young. He reminds me a bit of Billy Connolly - long graying hair, in rather tight curls. The sides of his hair are pulled back into a little pony tail on the back of his head. He is of American Indian heritage and I don't know what he's talking about, but he's sincere and earnest and all I want to do is ask him if he's of the Nomlaki tribe, the one KAM attributes Johnny Gage's heritage to. And he has George Clooney's face! I keep thinking, That's George Clooney and I want to know if he's Nomlaki! Dreams. Heh.

ok, ok, must finish the zine because [info]neaslon is chomping to borrow it (and [info]keri1600, I'll try to talk her into buying a copy, I promise. :D ) I've only got a few pages left.
