Economic Background: Upper Middle Class. They'd probably be wealthy if there weren't 5 kids in the family. The monthly payment on a 5 bedroom house and the care and feeding of five very active children don't come cheap and while they're not constantly broke, he does have to work part-time in order to have those luxuries that feel more like necessities to a teenaged boy.
Religion: Protestant. And yes, he goes to church with his family every Sunday. He's doesn't think much about it the rest of the week, though.

Appearance: Teddy isn't tiny, but he's not exactly muscular, either. He stands at about 5'10 (and a half, he'll tell you) and his weight is right around average. He's not a wimp, but it's fairly obvious he's not athletic, too. He has short brown hair and blue eyes. Hist style of dress is very casual - jeans and tshirts when he doesn't have to be in his robes and it's not uncommon at all for his jeans to have rips or tears in them.

Parents: Jordan and Elizabeth Gibson. He's a professor at a nearby college and she's a stay-at-home mom who does freelance consulting work from home to help supplement the family income.
Siblings: He has four of them, all younger than him. Ben is the youngest at 5. Alice and Julia are next, twin girls who are 8 and he has another sister, Lily, who is 14 and a freshman this year.
Current Residence: One of the larger homes near main street. It's far from being a mansion or anything, with just enough space for the relatively large family he has.
Brief History:
Teddy was a complete surprise to his parents. They were just out of college and recently married and not yet making plans for children at all when the stick turned pink anc changed their lives. It was a good change, though, they'll tell you. Teddy spent the first two years of his life slightly spoiled and quite doted upon before his younger sister arrived. Lily was born just two years after he was and he was a little less spoiled then, but he loved his sister and they're always been very close.
When they family grew even more 6 years later with the birth of the twins, the Gibson's moved out of their apartment and into one of the larger homes near Main Street. It put more of a strain on their budget, but the kids were happy to have a yard to play in. Not that Teddy ever played outside much. Lily was always the physically active one while he preferred to stay inside and read or hang out with his Mama.
Teddy was kind of an odd child. He preferred the news to cartoons and other children's programs and it was obvious to him early on that he was going to be a writer. He would often go around interviewing family members and writing out stories about them.
When he started high school, Teddy signed up for the school paper right away. He was determined to get his start in serious journalism and it was a big disappointment to him when he kept getting assigned to the crappiest articles. He excelled at them, though and it wasn't long before he found himself getting better assignments. He's been promoted to editor this year and he couldn't be more excited about that.
Sexuality: Straight. Bordering on homophobic, though he'll never admit to it.

As a person THE EMPEROR is both competitive and pushy, often rubbing the people around him the wrong way, and as the editor of the school newspaper he's ruthless in getting what he needs, especially when it comes to that next big headline. He butts heads with most authority figures and his articles often have something of a "stick it to the man" angle to them but beyond that he's a fairly responsible person. He juggles a lot both at home and at school but, while some people would find themselves overwhelmed, he thrives on it.
Likes: Reading, Writing. He doesn't watch much tv, unless you count CNN or other news stations. Teddy lives a far too busy life to really stop long enough to sit down and watch anything else. Musicwise, there isn't much he won't listen to, but he prefers the kind of mainstream top 40 type stuff to anything else.
Dislikes: Laziness, Turnips, Country Music
General Personality:
The first impression that Teddy gives off is someone who is very driven and determined to be the best and to succeed at any cost and possibly someone who is just a little bit crazy. He always has so many balls up in the air that he tends to run around like kind of a spaz and it's a wonder to a lot of people how he manages to get it all done, but he does. The truth is, he loves it. If he were to find himself suddenly less busy, he would go mad with boredom.
Teddy is generally distrustful of people who seem too good to be true, which might explain a big part of his "stick it to the man" mentality. He often thinks he should have been born in the 60s, because he is definitely that sort, though there is plenty to protest right here in the present day, too, and he uses his position as editor of the school paper to do just that.
There is little to nothing he won't do to get what he wants and he's burned more than a few bridges in publishing things that his peers have been offended by. He's generally not concerned with what people think of him and he certainly won't just not publish something just because it might mean losing some friendships or pissing people off. In fact, the more controversial, the better.
He's not afraid to speak up when he disagrees with something and while his grades are excellent, he's managed to piss off most of his teachers at one time or another, mostly because he's not afraid to correct them in class if he believes they are approaching the lesson incorrectly. This especially applies to history and government classes when there is a bias toward one side or the other. As a journalist, Teddy is very focused on needing the facts and all the facts. He wonders why they can't learn their history from the perspective of the British or the Native Americans and he's the first to pipe up and volunteer that point of view right in the middle of classes.
He's far from being dumb, though. His sharp mind is, perhaps, his most dangerous weapon. He's well-read and he's observant, which only gives him the ammunition with which to challenge everything anyone ever believes.
The side of him fewer people see is that he can be a caring and protective brother and friend. He doesn't show his emotions easily, but there's nothing he wouldn't do for his family or a close friend. Oh, no, he wouldn't bury a story or risk his own future successes for them, but if someone else were to hurt them, he'd be sure to make them pay for that somehow.
Three Deep Dark Secrets:
1) He's actually kind of a nice guy. No, seriously, this is definitely a secret and one he doesn't want getting out. There's no room for sentiment in serious journalism and if it gets out that he has a heart, it would be very, very bad.
2.) He's horribly unathletic. Teddy likes to claim that he thinks sports are stupid and a complete waste of time and resources, but, honestly, he's kind of bitter because he has no athletic ability whatsoever. Not a drop.
3) He sort of likes Bon Chance. He'll claim that he can't wait to get out, but he's truthfully nervous about college and leaving it all behind.
Three Storyline Ideas:
- I'd love to see him really, really get in trouble for an article. Possibly end up publishing something he was told not to and end up either suspended or physically harmed as a result.
- Romance! What high school kid doesn't want one of those? I see something with lots of conflict - possibly someone he constantly butts heads with and takes forever to see that he actually likes her.
- Sibling protectiveness. The next oldest kid in his family is his 14 year old sister who is a freshman this year and he's quite protective over her. I would love some not so nice guy to take advantage of her and have him ready to kill him.

My little sister has signed up for cheerleading.
My little sister. The one who has always been more into sports than dolls The one who Mama has to fight with to get into a dress for church on Sundays. My sister the tomboy is suddenly interested in cheerleading and I'm pretty sure I overheard her talking about boys on the phone last night, too.
The world is obviously coming to an end. This is a nightmare. She was supposed to stay 8 forever.
In other news, the SATs are coming up way too quickly. I've managed to save up for this great SAT prep course, though, so I think I will manage to do well.
