Gaara doesn't like anybody, true fact. However, he dislikes some people less. Shikamaru is less annoying. Because he's smart and doesn't waste words, both of which Gaara appreciates. Sure, the fact that it's just because Shikamaru is lazy is annoying, but, he can see why he's so lazy. Because most/all people/things aren't worth giving a shit/getting worked up about. Basically, if Gaara was going to go on a murderous rampage, he probably wouldn't kill Shikamaru.

LOL I BET THEY DON'T TALK ABOUT ANYTHING. Seriously they just sit there in this silence that should be so uncomfortable and awkward but isn't because they both don't give a shit or whatever. Maybe sometimes Gaara starts in on something. Somehow I doubt Shikamaru does.

Maybe... if Gaara would let him...
