what i'm trying to figure out is - are you psychic? this anon hasn't outlined their symptoms or made any other statement other than "i think i might have aspergers". do you know everything about them? do you know who they are or their habits/behavior? no? then sit down.

no, but i know that many, many people who self-diagnose are like that - mildly socially awkward and fancy themselves geniuses. i've known some in real life. if this person genuinely suffers from asperger syndrome, then i encourage them to seek help, but in my experience that's probably not what's going on here.

if you encourage them to seek help maybe you should have said that instead of shooting them down immediately. as stated before, you have no clue about this persons family or personal life, so while they may just be saying it (which i highly doubt, in my opinion), they might not have anywhere else to talk about it. if they don't have it, then the person they seek for help will diagnose them and they don't have to worry. that is obviously not your place to tell them that.

i wonder if you actually realize how ridiculous you sound, or you're just saying this to get a rise.

i'm not saying it to get a rise, i'm being honest. if they sincerely believe they have it, they should go to a professional, but if they're just reading the wikipedia page and deciding they have it, then i call bs.
