Mystery of the Mine!
1) Dp is dispatched to investigate a small, southern mining town where people have been reported going missing, including a Cadmus researcher (the question of why a researcher was there goes unanswered).
2) The town is, of course, one of those typical “Don’t cotton to strangers” kind of southern towns. When asked about the missing people, the typical answer is something to the effect of “you sure ask a lot of questions.” The people in the town also seem identical to the people in the Civil War era pictures and earlier portraits about town.
3) DP reluctantly decides to stay the night and investigate the caves in the morning. But they’re attacked by the townsfolk during the night and oddly overpowered. They are taken to the mine to be sacrificed to “It.”
4) “It” turns out to be a creature which feeds on humans but excretes a substance which promotes health and longevity. The townsfolk have been doing this for centuries. And they now intend to sacrifice the DP, along with the Cadmus researcher and other prisoners.
5) DP vs. “It.” “It” is killed and the DP take the sacrifices out of there.
6) Later, Cadmus is seen rounding up the townsfolk… along with “It” eggs…
What do you do… when Everything is against you?!
1) Alvin Draper, a STAR labs researcher into morphic field studies, announces he has discovered a “new alchemy” and holds a demonstration, which is attended by a representative of Cadmus.
2) The experiment goes horribly wrong, transforming Draper into an elemental monster capable of becoming literally anything. He dubs himself the Everything Man and goes on a rampage.
3) The DP are called in to stop him and get their asses kicked. Lindsey shattered, Roger splattered, Johnny, well, whatever can happen to her.
4) The DP are taken back to Cadmus to lick their wounds and get repairs/first aid, while the Everything Man continues his rampages. The Chief develops a weapon which should stop him.
5) DP vs. the Everything Man again. DP wins. Cadmus takes custody of him.
6) As Cadmus takes him back to the Project, the transport is attacked and the Everything Man freed, by people offering him a spot on the new Brotherhood of Evil!
It came from Lab 13!
1) Communication is lost with Lab 13, a high security lab level of Project Cadmus. Conventional security forces are sent in… but do not return.
2) Against Caulder’s wishes, the DP are sent in.
3) They enter Lab 13, only to find it now appears to be a vast Kansas farmland, with an emerald city in the distance.
4) The DP head towards it, but are attacked by an army made up of orange-metal woodsmen, bandage covered scarecrows, and women who all seem the same, but also slightly different. They fight their way through to the city.
5) The city is populated by munchkins, who all look like the Chief. They beg the DP to help free their princess.
6) The DP fight their way into the castle, where they find Hexx—or a psychic manifestation of him—has imprisoned the princess, a woman with ape-ish features. He’s been draining her psychic powers and taking over her mind.
7) DP fights Hexx and starts to lose, until Johnny uses her “good touch” to rouse the woman. She wakes and uses her power to destroy Hexx. She reveals herself to be Dorothy Spinner, a former Doom Patrol member herself. She draws her psychic projections back into herself and pleads with the DP to help her escape from the Project.
8) Cadmus security, including the Chief, arrive and put Dorothy down. Dubbilex wipes the DP’s memories of the whole event.
9) Caulder is later seen talking to Dorothy about how she won’t get away that easily…
Brotherhood… thy name is Evil!
1) Without explanation, Midway City disappears without a trace, along with all the people living there.
2) The DP arrive and discover the city is still there, just within a displacement field. One that only allows them to pass.
3) Inside, the DP are confronted by the new Brotherhood of Evil—Think Tank, the Cyber Simian, Madame Gemini, Gargaxua, and the Everything Man.
4) DP and Brotherhood fight, with the DP winning until the Think Tank enters the fra and they are beaten and trapped.
5) The Brotherhood will kill all the people in the city unless the DP agrees to die in their stead.
6) DP agrees to die. But the citizens witness this and rally to their defense and give them the edge they need to fight and beat the Brotherhood, who escape.
7) The DP are publically heralded as heroes. Cadmus and Caulder are not pleased.
