Showdown at the Center of the Earth!
1) The DP test out a new digging machine that Cadmus has designed, boring deep into the Earth.
2) During the trip, the machine suffers a catastrophic malfunction, standing the DP deep in an underground city/world (albeit one distinct from Calypso/Terra’s Stratta). Two of them end up with a race of Mole People, the other one with a group of Lava Men.
3) Each group convinces the DP member(s) with them that they’re the ones in the right, fighting for freedom, liberty, etc.
4) The two sides get into a conflict, bringing the DP members with them. It takes the fighting a bit before they see that they rest of the team is there.
5) DP escapes the fighting, trying to figure out what’s going on.
6) They work their way through the tunnels (narrowly avoiding being eaten by something large and monstrous), finding some sort of command center, staffed by both Mole Men and Lava Men.
7) DP fights their way through them.
8) It turns out a hybrid Mole-Lava Man has been manipulating both sides, trying to wipe them both out.
9) DP fights with him, wins. Peace returns to the underground world.
10) Cadmus troops in a second tunneling device arrive to take the DP home.
11) Caulder and the Project directors are later seen entering into negotiations with the leaders of the underground society…
