That snack can't be good for you, vampire sir
There was a deafening banging against the rather flimsy door as Ben pushed a wardrobe against it. "Storm? You've got FF experience with the weird stuff, tell that thing that we have terrible blood. I'm sure radiation-related hereditary mutations and blood that catches fire when exposed to air count as US BEING VAMPIRE HEALTH HAZARDS!" He shouted the last part at the door to the bloodthirsty Dracula thing on the other side. How they ended up in a rather abandoned small town, stuck in an old house with a vampire thirsting for them was one of those 'it's a long story, we're not sure, you don't want to know' things.

But vampires, vampires were a first. He never signed up for vampires.

Unfortunately, as it always seemed to be with old rundown houses you ran into in horror movies, the place seemed to be made of continuous hallways that just led to more hallways or stairs, or doors to rooms that would obviously be a dead end. How hard was it to find a damn foyer in this place?!

"DOES THIS PLACE NOT HAVE A DOOR?!" He didn't need spidey sense to know this was a bad situation, the crashing and crunch of doors they'd passed through that the vampire was now barreling past said it all. Not to mention it wouldn't be daylight for hours, and there seemed to be no garlic to be had anywhere near here. "I wish we had a Buffy right about now."

Yeah this definitely seemed like a bad old horror movie or even a crazy evil bad episode of Scooby-Doo.

"I'm more concerned that even still haven't even seen a window to jump out at least yet," Ben says running trying to keep up with Parker. "Heck I'd settle for Xander right now."

"There were boarded up windows but it'd be easier to just burst through walls than that. Besides...I don't think just getting out of this place will stop that thing!" His spidey sense was buzzing in his head still, though it seemed the vampire was gaining on them. "How do we kill it?!"

"Getting out of here still feels like a good idea but point taken," Ben says running. "Well on Buffy they used a wooden stake to the heart so that couldn't hurt to try. We do have a lot of broken wood here to use."

"Yeah but like the broken wood around here is all giant planks or tiny splinters or flimsy stuff! And I don't think whacking him with a plank is quite the same, but guess we've got no choice but to try. Hide and ambush him with a distraction? Oh and in case, vampires don't like fire right? Or...I hope?"

"Well find something we can break off for a stake around here. But hide and try to ambush sounds like a good idea."

"Probably not. They are walking corpse aren't they," Ben asks, "Why what were you thinking?"

"If all else fails...stabbing with wood is stabbing with wood, stake shaped or not." He gulped and looked over his shoulder as they ran. "Nothing just that...need a distraction so he doesn't see me coming. If we really need it then...maybe a bit of blood on fire to blind the thing while I come from behind? We can hide in one room and he'll come after us? Though you need some kind of wood with you too, cover all bases and all."

Ben would admit he hated this idea, absolutely hated it, it put his friend in too much danger and he had no idea really what he was doing.

"So you hid on the ceiling while a play helpless victim. Got it," Ben says. He didn't really like the blood idea. Way to uncontrollable and would probably burn down the building.

"Next big room, lets jump in, I snap some boards from the window for us to use and we take a shot at the thing. Not the best plan but all I've got." Plus he was still panicked about all this.

"Sounds like a good idea to me," Ben says looking for the next room like that. "Maybe it will have some table or chair legs we can break of for stakes."

"Time for operation: Fear the chair leg," he whispered as he skidded to a halt then dived into the next room, rolling to his feet.

"You say that like it's not a scary thing," Ben says before driving into the room as well. It was definitely not as graceful as Parker's but he still got back up on his feet.

"Because I want to believe it's not a scary thing!" Even though it totally was. Their luck here only extended so far as to give them half a broken chair, two legs, and a large wooden plank snapped in half. At least there was less work to do as Ben snapped off the chair legs and gave the other Ben one. "I can't believe we're going into a fight armed with chair legs..."

Ben pick ups his chair leg. "Hey at least you're not playing bait," he says trying to keep himself calm about that. He was putting up a good act even though he was terrified about the whole facing down a vampire thing.

"We can switch," he offers though they don't have much time. He'd only made himself the not-bait because he could cling to the ceiling to hide and because with his strength they might have a better chance of making their one shot successful. Actually, if the thing had any memory and remembered it was him that pulled it back then maybe it was better they switched. "Actually, let's switch and you can hide behind the door and surprise him from behind while he wrestles me or something..." Just the idea terrified him but they had to do something.

"You sure about that," He says a little surprised by the offer. There really wasn't much time to talk this through. "Whatever seems most likely to get us through this alive lets do."

"Yeahyeah," he nodded quickly and motioned Ben hurriedly to behind the door. The sounds of the vampire making its way through the house grew louder and louder and the crunch of wood that came with its destructive march continues.

Ben gulped and held the wooden chair leg in front of him like a sword, feeling both silly and really exposed. No, he could do this. He had superpowers, and Great Aunt May had glared down Wolverine without them! He could do this...right?

He glanced at Ben with a nervous 'you ready?' look.

At this point Ben almost felt that the waiting and anticipation was worse than what they were waiting for.

Ben waited behind the door trying to makes as little sound as possible with a chair leg stake in hand ready to strike as quickly as possible.

Ben nodded his head. He wanted to just end this.

The footsteps began to slow as the vampire followed the scent of his prey, realizing they had stopped running. One step, another step, it was close enough they could now hear the breathing. Ben could feel the sweat run down his back and his knees shook slightly, his spider sense was ringing in his head as loud as it had ever rung. Just a bit more and...

The vampire was now looming in the doorway, a dark and terrifying figure just standing there to relish the fear evident in the prey before it, revenge on the troublesome one. One moment it loomed there, still as stone, and in a blink of an eye it lunged forward, straight at Ben.

He barely had time to react before the vampire knocked him to the ground, and the chair leg off to the side and out of his hand. Ben grabbbed onto the vampire, grappling with it on the floor while trying to keep its fangs away from him. "NOWNOWNOW!"

Listening to the vampire walk towards them step by step Ben felt like he was in some kind of horror movie. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest as they waited.

When the Vampire came and lunged at Parker Ben got in position to strike better. Ben yelled and tried to stake the vampire that Parker grappled to the floor.

Ben yelled, the other Ben yelled, the vampire yelled. There was a lot of panicked yelling abound. But the stake gets the vampire in the shoulder, good shot but not enough for a one hit kill. Cue more yelling.

Ben struggled with the vampire as it flailed back and tried to get the other Ben, wrestling with the vampire and rolling with it wildly until he managed to pin him down, driving the stake in the back of his shoulder deeper. "USE MINE! FASTFASTFAST!" His forearm was pressed against the vampire's throat as it hissed and screamed and clawed at him.

Crap I missed, Ben though to himself seeing the stake go into the vampire's shoulder. Buffy really made this kind of thing look easy.

"Right," He shouted back to Ben. He scrambled to grab the fallen stake and make another attempt at this whole staking thing.

It was awkward to try and keep the vampire pinned down while staying enough out of the way that Ben had a clear shot at the thing's heart.

The next shot, despite the vampire's straining against Ben's hold, is better, right in the center of the chest. While it's not quite the heart, the thing shrieks in pain and lashes out, throwing both Bens away from it.

Ben manages to somersault and skid onto his feet. "Aren't they supposed to go down right after that?!" But the thing still had some fight left in it as it staggered back to its feet. "shitshitshit."

Ben grinned when he though he got the thing in the heart. This would all be so much easier if that thing would just hold still

Thrown Ben lands not so well and and skids on the ground a little. He feels a little bit of pain in his right forearm. "I think we might have some more things to worry about," Ben says seeing a scrap on his arm bleeding fire. There was already a streak of fire on the floor burning and already starting to spread.

"I think we have enough-oh shit."

Because this was an old house, a real old house, made entirely of wood, that was quite dry right now. Which meant...this thing was burning, and fast.

Ben looked at the vampire, then back at Ben, then at the vampire as it bares its fangs at them. "Okay...okay okay, we can...we can handle this." Gulp. "Make a break for the door, I throw him into the fire, and we set this place to flame as we escape. Vampires burn right?"

Arson for a heroic cause he'd call it.
