Entry tags:gip, real life, repo! the genetic opera, zydrate comes in a little glass vial

What's this -- an actual update!?

For the most part it's a GIP -- and will mean nothing to anyone but Ron, more than likely -- but here it is!

I saw Repo! The Genetic Opera last night! The only screening in Western Canada and a month before it's released on American screens (of which there are only 10) so I'm feeling pretty good about it!

We stood in line for like ... an hour and there was a reasonable number of people at the showing. A lot of them were like super-goth and it was kind of adorable, but I spent most of the time in the line staring at this guy with bondage straps over his chest thinking: those mother-fuckers have to chafe like a son-of-a-bitch. I mean, vinyl straps don't exactly breathe, you know?

Anyway! On to the musical. It was honestly very well done and Paris Hilton's character was being made fun of enough throughout the show to appease me. It was a little slow starting, but the pick-up once the actual in-show 'Opera' started was fantastic and I really enjoyed it. The only real gripe I have with the final cut is that they axed a bunch of the songs from the sampler and changed a few of the melodies. It seemed a little short, but that's pretty typical for Maple.

EEE that's so cool, being one of a handful of people getting to see it.

I totally dragged two of my friends to see it and they were both like: '>_> why are people dressed up everywhere you take us' ... and I realized that they really are.

Lolz.

ASLKDG I AM SO JEALOUS!

DID YOU DRESS UP????

I'm so jealous! And I don't even know if one of those 10 screens are near me, so I have to wait until like, the DVD release or something. :[

I so would not complain if you took me places where people dressed up. Nobody here does that enough.

I didn't dress up, largely because I went straight from school to the movie.

Not that hardcore, sry. <3

AND I KNOW, RIGHT? THEY SHOULD BE GLAD THEY GET TO SEE THE SWEETNESS.
