Avis Booth ([info]alaspooryorick) wrote in [info]osteological,
Avis, Jealous
It wasn't that she had a problem with being at (another) Yule ball alone. That was something she was beginning to get used to, and it really just gave her more opportunity to sneak out of the thing as quickly as possible after she had filled herself up with the fancier foods and enjoyed some of the live music. No, there was nothing wrong with a strong and independent young woman arriving stag to a dance. She'd probably just end up tripping over her feet and making a fool out of herself anyway -- she was just saving herself the embarrassment.

No, the problem here was that Tomas Booth was doting on some pretty older Gryffindor who seemed, for all intents and purposes, to be using him to make her considerably burlier ex-boyfriend as jealous as possible. From the look on the Hufflepuff beater's face, Avis could see that it was working. That little blonde -- twit -- was hanging all over Tomas, giggling and dragging him in closer with her lips grazing his neck. She wasn't jealous, she was just angry that Tomas was completely oblivious to the fact that he was going to get his face punched in at any second. This girl was just taking advantage of him, and he couldn't even see as much -- if anyone deserved his attention, it was her!

After all, she was the one who'd helped him pass potions. That was more than deserving of a little pampering or -- hell, even a glance in her direction, wasn't it?
