She's upset now, whatever their hold on her, it's tight.
"They won't." He says it with such conviction that it comes out in a very bat-like growl. He won't let them find out, and he's going to do everything in his power to make sure of that.
He doesn't tell her he has the possibilities of who she's working for narrowed down to a few of the bosses, just in case she tells him now. "Then tell me, I'll find out anyway you'll just save me valuable time. Time I can use to head this off before it blows up in our faces." Please. The last part is silent but it's there, and it's up to her what she chooses to do now.
