It certainly doesn't help. But he's enjoying that while in disguise he can act in ways that he shouldn't or couldn't as Robin.
When she cuddles up to him he makes it a point to glare at one oggling creep across the street as if daring him to do something. The guy quickly looks away and scurries off. Yes, he's feeling a little smug now.
