"If we want it done well and as safely as possible it'll take longer and I don't want to risk you," he points back.
He doesn't have any idea about what she plans to do. And he doesn't want to think of it just yet in case he pressures her in some way for a decision. It should be her decision. But he'll take this time to cut the blackmailing off as soon as possible.
