AU Land--- Mob Boss
In a very different time line things went differently for Sarah. She never met Robin and never had his help. Her life became much more complicated as a result. Instead of slowly getting to the point where she might be free one day things just went too far.

So she killed a Mob Boss and took over his empire. She didn't become strictly evil but she did what she had to so she could hold onto his businesses. She was able to turn some into honest businesses but there were other things she couldn't change. That was what killed part of her just a little bit.

Sleep down't come to someone like her who spends their every waking moment fighting the other families off with Machiavellian moves to topple them should they get too close. She won't let the other families destroy Gotham. Some of the harder drugs stop coming through for a while and it pleases the Master Thief turned Mob Boss.

At least she could do some good. But she's very tired and hates the fact she did have to throw this lavish party for her men. But it was to keep their loyalty. They needed to be happy so parties were just a part of it. Right now though she waves off her body guard and retreats to her office for a drink alone.

She feels so tired right now. She also feels like she's in over her head.

All of a sudden the whole restaurant's power goes out and the place is plunged into darkness.

There's a moment of deathly silence as everyone wonders what's happening. And then the first thud comes. And the next, followed by a pained cry. Then a third, sounding like a knockout punch and a strangled sound. It's silent except for the breathing of terrified people. The fear in the room is palpable now.

And if she was looking at just that moment, across the restaurant from her in the dim lighting as people's eyes adjust, a shadowy figure rises on a table. Dead silence as people stare for a moment and the red bat emblem is clear. The Bat is here.

And then panic erupts as guns go off, shooting blindly in that direction. But luckily in the opposite direction of her.

"Come on. We'll get you in the kitchen. Stay there. Don't tell them which way I'm going," she orders the younger looking waiter. As they're moving she has to push the waiter through the door quickly so he doesn't get shot.

Civilians shouldn't be put in danger. That is when there is blinding pain as she gets shot. It's not a very bad injury but it is distracting as she stumbles back into the kitchen.

The power is out here too but she is still a master thief so getting out of here is no problem. She'll go to a safe house and send for someone to take care of her injury. The benefits of being a Mob Boss is a great health care plan.

Batman can't tell she's been shot from where she is. He'd specifically picked appearing on the opposite end of the place from her to prevent this. But if some of them were such bad shots that they could be 180 degrees off, he couldn't do too much.

Chaos has hit the restaurant as they try to hit the Batman. But he's a barely visible shadow, taking out mobsters here and there and some are getting cautious and not wanting to hit their own people. It's an advantage he's counting on.

She still is out the door before she can get into more trouble. Only more trouble had been waiting for her just in case. They had seen the lights go out.

Batman will hear guns go off briefly outside. Sarah forgot about her own gun.

"Do you know why I don't like guns?" And and arm gets snapped and a gun is dismantled with a stick that Sarah had been using to hold her hair up.

"Limited range of effectiveness!" She has the three men outside on the ground quickly but she is gasping now because of the wound she has.

She needs to leave. She moves in the direction of her car silently ordering herself to stay on her feet. She can rest later.

Batman is finishing up inside now, and the lights soon flicker on to show the general destruction and beaten up mobsters lying around the restaurant. Sirens can already be heard.

As he makes his exit he can see the men she took out and the traces of a blood trail, but he only comes in time to see her get in the car and start it.

He should follow it and see if she was alright and be sure the police didn't get her.

Her car is a very nice car anyways so it could be fun to follow. The police don't notice her shockingly and while she is driving to her very nice safe house she places several calls.

Her body guard is pissed that she is hurt but understands she wants to get patched up before she decides on a course of action.

She orders her Capo to get all the information she needs on this situation. She then calls the family doctor who will meet her body guard. She wants to get fixed up and for her body guard to watch the lobby of the building just in case.

By the time she arrives everything is in place. Freddo looks like he wants to take someone's head off. He acts as if Sarah is his daughter sometimes not that she minds. She trusts him because he had tried to save her from the former Boss.

"I'll be okay. Keep the vultures from getting to me," she reassures him then lets the doctor get her to her place because at this point she needs to lay down. One of her men is cleaning her car for her.

By the time she is laid out on her stomach in the dark after the doctor is gone she is finally able to breath easier. In reality all of this only took about twenty minutes but it felt much longer to her.

	"I'm just tired," Sarah says. "I don't know what went wrong. One of my men is gathering information for me." She can guess where he is but she doesn't feel like moving. The localized pain killer the doctor had injected so he could remove the bullet out without causing Sarah discomfort didn't make it comfortable for her to move. "The wound wasn't that bad." 	Nope. Besides he made sure she was alive. He did his job. Of course Sarah is starting to doze a bit now. Batman still doesn't scare her. She is just going to get up and move even though it isn't advisable. She wanted tea so she could think. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

She wants her tea. It helps her to think.

"And my men will expect me to strike back because of what happened. If I don't do something in retribution it makes my position shaky." She fills the kettle and moves it over to the stove as she thinks.

"Hostile take over of one of their chop shops would be easy. I noticed one of theirs is very poorly defended and it's right on the edge of their territory."

"I'l be fine. About two years ago a serial killer tried gutting me just off of Crime Ally. Didn't finish me then... A little bullet isn't slowing me down." She rolls her shoulders thoughtfully.

"But you're right. My thought is remind them to not treat me like they have been. There's a very expensive painting that he bragged about winning at poker game in Ocean City a few years back." Sarah smirks slowly.

"The kind that belongs in a museum. Don't you think the city deserves a generous donation?"

	He just shakes his head at her. The woman was reckless. She was one of the people most wanted dead in the whole city and she wanted to break into a rival's house after being shot. "It's reckless. "Not right now. That would be stupid and he'd see it coming." But she misses being a thief. She isn't cut out for this. It chaffs being stuck like this.

"Besides you'd stop me at this point. Can't ruin the game plan." Think Sarah how to get back at him.

"Of course. Falcone. He's still pissed about that girl that got killed because of Rittuchi, Boss Panessa's guy."

That was who she had been meeting with tonight. "I know we weren't going to talk to Falcone but right now he's the biggest player in Gotham. I need him to help me settle this without turning this into a war... And he's more inclined to not want a full out war."

	Sarah runs her fingers through her hair. "That's true. Shit. I don't even know who I could start laying the charm on to keep this from getting bloody." She is tired and stressed out. She turns the stove off and starts to move but the pain killer that the doctor used so he could get the bullet out isn't working to keep everything else from hurting so she winces. She tries to hide it but hell this is Batman, he is the single most observant person in Gotham.

"But I suppose rest would be helpful. Freddo will give me that Look if I'm in bad shape tomorrow. I swear he thinks he's my nurse maid somedays."
