Meeting for the first time....Again (AU)
She had gotten out of Gotham before she had ever met Robin. She never crossed paths with him. She wasn't sure why she had come back to Gotham. It wasn't always a very charming city but it had never distressed her. She also knew that this city had everything she might be interested in.

That was why she had come back here. She is having way too much fun going after a very lovely piece of jewelry that is on display at the museum. It is when she gets out without tripping security she thinks she has been spotted.

So of course she runs away.

"That would be... good." She wants him to offer it. She won't just assume anything.

There's a slight smirk, he really does find her...interesting to say the least. "Perfect. I can free up my week." He's smiling now fully.

"Oh can you?" She teases him with a wide smirk and lets one hand rest just a little higher on his arm.

The hand on her lower back pulls her a bit closer now. "Don't let word spread, I tend to pretend to be too busy," he smirks right back.

The move gets a pleased gleam in her eye. "Ah the life of the idle rich American... It is so hard."

She is teasing him and doesn't look down on him for being well off.

"Oh I have work. It's just that it's a good excuse to avoid certain types of people," he says as delicately as possible. The bimbos and gold-diggers and social climbers were annoying to say the least.

"But once in a while it's good to be able to use the perks of being a rich American and be a little idle." There's a slightly suggestive cock of an eyebrow now. "Like this one place with some of the best lamb in the country. Interested?"

That gets him an entertained look. "I can see how hard it must be to be someone like you. So many young and too available women chasing after you."

That was her way of pointing out gold diggers and social climbers without being crass. "I've had good lamb back when I was living in Gotham... how did you guess I like it?"

"Well once in a while you get to sift through and find someone more interesting," he smirks back at her.

"I didn't. It just always sounds more exotic than 'good chicken' but not so exotic like 'delicious ostrich' to scare people off. Maybe I'm just a lucky guesser."

"And how did you know I wasn't someone's visiting granddaughter," she innocently presses sounding both playful and curious.

"Personally speaking as someone well traveled ostrich is a bit greasy I find," Sarah supplies. "Lamb and goat tend to be my favorites. I don't care for pork as my childhood was spent all over and after one bad experience with food poisoning? I'm sure you'd understand."

"The sort of people who attend these things? Well, it's a small group and gossip moves fast in these circles. I'd have at least heard about you and being in town beforehand if that was the case," he supplies with an innocent shrug back.

"It is, surprisingly unpoultry-like in texture I find. Noted on the pork and also the lamb and goat bit. Goat's a bit harder to find done well but I know plenty of lamb I could take you to try. Tomorrow? Tour of your choice during the day then the best lamb in Gotham in the evening." Good thing he hadn't offered bacon then. But given how some of the girls around here ate...he never did at these things.

"Mmm. That's true. I imagine that my dancing with you will give them plenty to talk about." She sends him a completely not innocent and almost rakish grin.

That actually has her give him a pleased smile. "That sounds like a very fun plan. You know how to get something started on the fly... That must make you hell to deal with in business."

She likes this though.

"They talk about me enough anyway, though being connected to you certainly isn't talk I mind." The grin she gets back has a slightly mischevious bent to it, not uncommon with him but certainly not something he pulls out too often at these parties.

Good, she'd agreed. "I'm good at plans or winging them, you have to be around here. Though you don't want to get on the wrong side of me in business," he winks. There's more truth to that statement than she knows. Planning and going by the seat of his pants happened in both his jobs, and you certainly didn't want to be on the opposite end any time soon.

"I think I wouldn't mind making them talk." She just gives him a very interested look. She is obviously the good kind of trouble.

"I tend to be spur of the moment... good at following through though," she supplies. "I think it might be interesting to go against you at least once but I think we do different areas."

The very good kind. One he's quite glad he ran into. "I'm sure we could find some common ground," he responds, having somehow gotten even closer so their faces aren't far apart at all now. "Sometimes it's fun to give them something to talk about. Though it's even better if said thing is fun itself."
