08:07 pm: Student Discounts and Deals of the Week - October 1 - 7, 2011
While reading my email and browsing several student discount websites, I found some deals this week.  Two websites had some really good offers. To access them, you have to go to the “deals” website, and click a link to go to the store’s website in order to get the discount.

Student Rate.com has a little bit of everything going on this week. The first deal that caught my eye was a 50% discount on any mobile or online course at BenchPrep.

Halloween is coming up, and Spirit Halloween Storesare offering 10% cash back on all purchases made through Student Rate.com

If you want some treats for yourself, you can order the best baked goods and have them delivered by Priority Mail from Crumbs Bake Shop. Student get 15% off all online orders.

Don’t worry about those calories. You can get 5% cash back when you shop for athletic gear at New Balance

I discovered a new student discount site this week. StudentBistro.com has some great bargains on clothes and food – the two things every student needs! You don’t have to take accounting courses to know these are great deals.

eCampus has a huge selection of University and Greek Apparel up to 50% off, with free standard shipping for orders of $59 or more.

Gapand Old Navy are both offering free shipping on orders of $50 or more.

You can download printable student discount coupons for food at Arby's, Boston Market, D'Angelo's, Fresh Choice, Papa Gino's, Pizza Hut, Popeyes Chicken and Schlotzsky's Deli.

Happy Saving!

02:50 pm: You Can Bet on Savings Cards

You know that you can score local discounts on all kinds of things by showing your college ID. But there is another kind of card that can save college students money on all kinds of things, locally, nationally and online. To qualify, you need to attend a college, university ,or be taking online courses.  There are three main kinds of Student Discount Programs: Paid Membership Programs, Free Card Programs and Online Purchase Programs.  Here is a look at the most popular programs:

1)  Student Advantage bills itself as the “Nations largest student discount program.” A one year membership costs $20, but looking at the list of offerings, it seems that would pay for itself if you use the card regularly. They offer a special “Get $10 Back on Your First Purchase” incentive to sign up as well.  The discounts are local near campuses and online, and are 10% - 20% in most cases. Here is a partial list of the companies offering discounts through Student Advantage:

 2)  Edhance is a program that rebates cash back to your own debit or credit card when you make purchases online or locally. You register your card on the club website. The incentive is very attractive, as high as 50% back on many purchases. They also offer local discounts categorized by school.
