[AMERY] As convenient as it would be to be able to ask your sisters this, considering that our relationship is not the best, you are the only one I know of that I can go to for help on this. So I have a very important, very serious question to ask you. About your brother. [/AMERY]

I couldn't say for certain, though I've always believed him to have a certain dislike for small (or large, really) animals and children. Whatever they are, I can't imagine they are wholly positive--although I have been surprised in past, so I'm sure-----------------

Is there any particular reason why you're inquiring, Ophelia?

You are REALLY NOT HELPING ME saying things like that Well, I mean, he's good with Gwen and with Edmund, but I feel as if he's not a person for children in general, just due to his disposition. Or children that he has to tolerate for long periods of time.

Yes, there's a reason.

Oh, for the love of bleeding Merlin, why is it

Ophelia. I'm sure if he, er, were to, hypothetically, have a child himself--not, of course, that I am saying he does or will--but I cannot imagine he would treat he or she with anything other than the... strong sense of familial ties that he has with nearly every member of his family. Providing it's his--well, no, you are no Juli

I don't suppose the particular reason you are inquiring is... that particular reason?

If that particular reason is that we're going to get to see his like or dislike for children in action very soon either way, then yes. That's why I'm asking.

Ophelia, why is it pregnant women tell me about their s--------- It is a bit as if they all want to see me have to fend of

In all honesty, I don't believe you have much to be concerned about. I cannot possibly imagine something that would give my brother more joy than producing an heir.

That depends upon whether your definition of heir is traditional or not.

I honestly believe it wouldn't be anything more than petulant sulking. Despite what his many questionable actions may lead one to believe, he has struck me as an immensely family-oriented individual. And this is certainly a joyous enough occasion--but the sooner you tell him, the better. As daunting as that may or may not seem.

Yes, I understand that. It's the getting up the courage to actually do the telling that is the difficult part.
