Ah, the socialite scene. A complete drag as far as Robin was concerned, though her mother certainly seemed at home with them. She was at the party somewhere, schoomzing and networking as she liked to call it. Bette Kane may have been completely at home with that, but she'd practically been doing it since she was sixteen. Robin, at the same age, was not quite so skilled. Given that she was "father unknown," it was amazing the rest of the family even talked to them. Though given cousin Kathy...

She had a lot on her mind tonight. She'd only had a couple of outings as "Flamebird," but they'd been nearly complete disasters. She was very sure she'd have died if her "Flamearang" hadn't curved back and hit the guy in the head. And Mom? Mom just treated it like a bump on the way to stardom. No fading away in obscurity for her little girl.

She sighed. Sometimes, having a super-hero in the family was way more trouble than it was worth.

	Okay, Robin knew she was far from the world's greatest detective, in spite of Mom trying to teach her (which had mostly consisted of "read my old diary entries and try to figure out what Robin did and ignore the parts about his butt" or "go watch CSI"), but even she could pick up on a clue like that.
