So I've been busy as all hell the last couple of weeks, which means I haven't had much of a chance to update.
Last week, my now officially formed band played our first show, which was the school talent show lol. I play drums, Mike sings/screams, and Phil and Glen play guitar. Logan's probably gonna join us as well, for a third guitarist, but he didn't play the show with us. I think we're going with Dead Tide as a band name. We covered "Tip The Scales" by Rise Against, and "Swim" by In Flames. Everyone loved our performance, and we almost placed third. We got beat out by a little bit by an incredible white rapper from the school lol. We're trying to get the videos from the school, so once we do, I'll put them on here.
Last Wednesday was also 15 years, to the day, since my dad passed away. And I didn't try to kill myself like I did last year. I actually handled it pretty well, I think. I don't wanna get into the details of it.
Spring Break officially starts at 3 PM on Friday for me, and I'm so fucking excited. IRELAND ON SUNDAY.
I'm leaving Sunday night, and taking an overnight flight. I'll be in Ireland at 8 AM on Monday, and I have the whole week to hang out with Andrew and Conor, get drunk, and go adventuring in a new country lol. If I can get internet over there (not taking my laptop), probably from like, an internet cafe or computer at the school Andrew and Conor are attending, I'll update. I'm gonna take tons of pictures, so I'll post those when I get back. I'm also using the vacation to work on my writing, which I'm really looking forward to. I'll be sure to post whatever I write on here when I get back. I liked all the feedback I got from my Punisher short story.
I saw Watchmen last weekend with Kyle. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was very faithful to the graphic novel, and most of the actors did amazing jobs bringing their characters to life. Oh. And lots of blue dick. Why did Dr. Manhattan have to be naked the entire movie?! At least like, not show it or something. It was so offputting. But Jackie Earle Haley, the guy who played Rorshach, did an incredible job with the character.
Daylight savings hit me hard that night. I saw the movie at around midnight, and it's like, a 3 hour movie, so by the time I got out of the theater, it was 4, because daylight savings had started, and I was up until like, 7 AM, so I got like, no sleep before work the next day.
I feel really crappy right now. I think I ate too much tonight, and I feel so tired and sluggish, and I'm starting to get a headache. Probably gonna spend the rest of the night

I just realized I haven't had a real update in a while. It's like every time I come here with the intent of writing something meaningful and important, I totally lose the urge.
I've been slipping back into that horrible, depressed phase yet again. Only one thing in my life makes me happy at the moment, and I still have to wait another 2 weeks to get it (my trip to Ireland).
( Because I hate publicly broadcasting the same thing over and over again )
I feel like shit. The next few days are gonna be dominated by band practice, which I'm looking forward to. Mike, Phil, Glen, and I are playing the talent show at school on Wednesday, so we need to get everything down perfect before then. We're playing "Tip The Scales" by Rise Against and "Food For The Gods" by In Flames, so I'm gonna be hearing alot of those two songs over the next few days.
Tomorrow, I'm going home for the day for family stuff. My sister's 17th birthday is Monday, so my mom's getting the whole family together for cake and stuff tomorrow. Not exactly looking forward to it, but it's better than working.
I booked my trip for Ireland, like I mentioned. I went to the post office Friday and got my passport shit sorted out. I should have it soon. I booked a flight for Sunday, March 15th, at night, which means I'll be getting into Ireland the morning of the 16th, and I'll be there until Saturday the 21st. To say I'm excited is an understatement. I haven't seen Andrew and Conor in months, so spending some time with them is gonna be awesome. They're two of my best friends, and I seriously miss having them around with all the shit that's been going on with my roommates and this house and everyone in it. It used to be, last semester, that whenever I got fed up with my roommates, I'd go over to Andrew and Conor's place, and we'd hang out for the rest of the day, watching movies, getting drunk, and the like. It's definitely lot more boring around here without them around.
I plan on gettind drunk while in Ireland and taking alot of pictures. Probably to help me remember the things I'm gonna be blacked out for. Yeah. I plan on drinking alot when I'm over there. I mean, it's Ireland during the week of St. Patty's Day. I'd be nuts not to drink.
And my sister's giving me her iPod! That made me really happy. I asked her if I could borrow it for my trip, and she said she wasn't using it, so I could have it for as long as I wanted.
( And this made my night on Thursday )
Dunno why, but that seriously makes me crack up. Probbaly because I can imagine him saying that in his heavy southern accent, and it sounds hilarious.

Been a bit busy the past couple of days. Got a new wireless router, which works amazingly, so internet is back and all that.
The raid in WoW went great tonight. I wound up coming out of it with tons of new shit. I'm finally really getting into the game now that I have something to work for.
Tired as hell. Band practice tomorrow. Excited.
Just finished watching The Visitor. Incredible movie. Gotta make a note to get that on DVD.

So the wireless totally died today, which pissed me off so fucking much. Like. Completely dead. Can't pick up a signal. I spent about an hour on the phone with Optimum, and finally figured out it wasn't the modem, since we can still get on XBox Live, and the wireless works when connected through an ethernet cable. The router is totally shot, though. We're gonna try to replace it tomorrow and see if that fixes it.
Fuck you, Linksys. I wasn't on the phone with them for more than ten minutes, giving all this information to some assclown somewhere overseas who barely spoke english, and he goes "When did you buy the router?" I thought it was new, since we replaced our old one with this one when Greg couldn't connect to the old one, but it turns out Greg brought his old one from home, which he bought years ago. The warranty was expired, and the guy goes "Before we can resolve the issue, I have to transfer you over to a different department. You'll have to pay some charges and---" and that's all he got out before I said "Fuck that, I'm not paying any fucking charges" and hung up. Unbelieveable.
So I'm hooked up to the modem right now. I went over to Kyle's for a bit to play WoW. I better have this fixed before tomorrow. Raiding starts tomorrow night and goes till Wednesday. I'll be pissed if I can't raid because of a fucking wireless problem. Being hooked up to the router is a pain in the ass. I can always go to Kyle's, though.
I'm still a bit pissed. I'm finishing the leftovers from dinner, probably throwing on The Third Man, and relaxing before I go to bed.

I've been alot better over the past couple of days, aside from sleep problems. I don't think tonight's gonna be an issue though. No work tomorrow means I can catch up on some well earned sleep. Being drunk helps =). Thanks to everyone who I've been talking to. You've been amazing. I appreciate the kindness and everything you've shown me. (If I douns lame and cheesy, it's the whiskey talking).
Tomorrow is relaxation day. Just gonna hang out, play some WoW (raid tomorrow night! Whoo! Can't wait), watch some movies, and be a bum. I can't wait.

I jammed with Logan for a few hours yesterday, which was incredible.
Logan's the guitarist from my old band, who I haven't seen in years, since I left the band on kinda rough terms. But it was all in the past, and he's probably gonna join the band Mike, Phil, Glen and I have going on, which is awesome. It felt so good to jam with him again, because we always knew we had that kind of chemistry, musically, that's hard to replicate. It was just alot of fun.
My first class ended early since most people didn't show up, and my second class was cancelled, so I have the whole morning to myself. I have class at 2, then work tonight.
I've been having a lot of problems lately, between a terrible sleep schedule, and more personal problems, so I think I'm gonna take some time to try and sort it out. I hate living like this sometimes. I get so miserable and unmotivated. I hate it.
I'm gonna go take a nap, since I had some trouble sleeping last night. |

Okay... so fuck the rest of the shit about Friday the 13th. The rest of the movies past 4 suck, with the exception of six and a few parts of seven. 8 is awful, even though it did spawn my idea for the most random music video of all time. 9 barely features Jason, as he's body hopping as a demon worm most of the time. Jason X.... I appreciated that it's not taking itself seriously, and really, they're not taking themselves seriously, but once Uber Jason showed up, it all went to shit. Freddy vs Jason was... okay. I wish Kane Hodder came back to play Jason. Ken Kirzinger was good as stoic, physically imposing Jason, but the depth and emotion Hodder gave the character is unsurpassable. Almost until now.
Kyle and I caught the 4:10 showing of the new Friday the 13th. I went into it with an open mind, because I'd heard both good and bad things about it. I figured it couldn't be any worse than some of the worst of the series. Besides, aside from the Amityville Horror remake, Michael Bay's production company can actually pull off decent remakes.

Watching Friday the 13th: Jason Takes Manhattan gave me an idea. A terribly funny idea.
Since a good portion of the movie takes place on a boat... I wanna make a music video for the movie using "I'm on a Boat" by Lonely Island. Maybe it's due to my obsession with the album as of the moment, but it seriously could work. I wonder if there's a way to like, essentially photoshop pieces of the video into the movie. Like, have Jason stalking around killing someone, and have like, T Pain singing in the background of the shot.

Okay. Lonely Island's Incredibad album is my favorite album of the year. If that's gonna hold true by the time December rolls around, I don't know, but as of right now, it beats out the new Thursday and Lamb of God albums because it has been a very, VERY long time since I laughed this hard so consistently. Every track is tremendously funny. Too many to name, honestly. "Like A Boss" is incredible, and hearing Natalie Portman rap is amazing lol.
So today's Valentine's Day. And I don't care. Good for everyone who's got someone, honestly. But I don't, and I think I'm happier that way at the moment. So cool if you had fun going out to dinner and whatever else. I went to work, came home, and drank. Yeah.
My plans this weekend were shot to shit, as Kyle wasn't able to come up tonight to see the movie. I think a bunch of us are going on Monday, since we don't have school.

I haven't really had much to update about lately =(
This week's been alot better, thanks to a couple of people. So thank you. You know who you are. I hope.
Today was actually really nice. I went to my 9 AM class, was feeling exhausted, so I got some breakfast, and came home. I ate, sat online for like, an hour, then took a nap. After I woke up, I pulled a pretty nice film paper... basically out of my ass. Film class was pretty good. We watched The Third Man. Orson Welles is the shit. Now I'm just relaxing, talking to a couple of people, eating some pizza, and listening to music. I'm thinking about sleeping in tomorrow, at least an extra hour, because I haven't been sleeping much lately.
This weekend's also shaping up nicely. Bryan might come over tomorrow night, possibly do some drinking. Saturday Kyle and I are going to see Friday the 13th. I can't wait. I'm gonna put up a huge entry on the franchise tomorrow or Saturday, probably gonna wait till after I see the new one.

I feel so dead. Emotionally, mentally, and spiritually moreso than physically. I'm sliding back into that phase I get into randomly, where I just stop caring about everything and everyone. There are a few people in my life who I actually enjoy talking to, but I don't get to talk to them enough, so I just sit here and wallow in self pity. I hate it, but I live with morons, so I can't stand being around them for more than a few minutes at a time. I have such a low tolerance for people who do stupid things just to do it.
