Holy buggering hell, where has Summer gone?
Slaving away at the joke shop, that's where. But it was Fred's idea to open a second branch of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, and I'll be damned if George has to close the Hogsmeade branch for lack of help. Which is why I volunteered to run it. I didn't know much about the products at first, so I would sort've fake it when people asked me questions about them-- in the beginning at least, but after working every single day, I've gotten pretty familiar with them (I can now tell the difference between Puking Pastilles and Spewing Spearmints!).
The Pros: Finally making a decent about of money, learning a business, George is letting me live in the studio flat above the shop, no homework.
The Cons: Gets boring on slow days, miss my friends, nobody to play Quidditch with, gets boring on slow days, Auror application is a billion feet of parchment long, gets boring on slow days, have to do my own cooking/laundry... too bad I can't afford to pay a House Elf. ...yet.
[private] I'm glad I can help out George, especially since he really needs help with the business after Fred died, but sometimes.... sometimes I wish I could get on with my own life. Seems like everyone's getting on with their dreams and futures except for me. [/private/]
Since I've been so bored, I had some time to think, and well... I came up with an idea. Don't laugh or I'll kick your arse.
I'm going to start a charity.
I'll have a donation bucket in the shop right next to the register, and I'll print up flyers. The Fred Weasley Foundation. I'll use the money to send WWW products to Wizarding Orphanages, I'll hire entertainers to send there as well-- anything that'll get a laugh out of the kids. It'll be a lot of work-- I'm sure Hermione'll know what I've got to do paperwork-wise to get started.
Well, I've got to get back to stocking shelves. Hopefully Hermione won't be too busy with her Head Girl duties to owl me-- or hopefully visit every Hogsmeade weekend. I wonder if Harry gets any time off during Auror training? You'd think slaying the darkest wizard of all time would entitle him a break to spend Sundays with his best mate, yeah?
Here's to hoping.

Ron we really ought to make sure that Harry gets some time off. It worries me that they'll work him too hard. It just seems to soon and you know Harry. He'll just keep pushing himself and he'll never take a break. I judt don't like it!
I'll be so pleased to see you both. It seems like it can't come fast enough.
I'm glad you like the charity idea, I had a feeling you would. Just don't go making sparkling FWF badges or appoint any executive positions. At least not yet, yeah?
I was hoping we could meet up. You know, to discuss the charity.. Harry should come tpo, if he's able to.
Oh, and I'm glad your parents are doing well, Dad keeps me updated on their progress.
