It had to be either the mom or him? But I really don't want to believe it was her mom because I remember for some reason a million years ago (or like 2003) when she talked about her mom and how supportive she'd been and how it had always been just the two of them. What was her husband even fucking doing like, with her mom?? I can't think of a single situation in which that would be normal.
