i don't think it's that badly written, mockingjay is but i mean it's ya, what do they expect? the first book and catching fire told their stories very well imo

mte i just think people expect too much like everyone should write like greg or something (no offense bro) but the author is a screenwriter by trade which is why i think it was definitely meant to be a movie, and tbh harry potter isn't that well written but it's the way she tells the story and made her characters

ia about it being meant to be a movie, i think it's going to translate so fucking well. it might be one of the few movies i like more than the books if it's as good as i expect it to be because the visuals will do it better justice than words will

i slinks in to say these are my thoughts on how george r r martin writes as well. it's obviously plain and straight to the point but the stories and characters make it good. for me at least

he is an awful writer half the time especially when he tries to be smutty but he's very good at weaving the characters together and creating interesting backstories for them which is what sells it
