i've never been to/seen a court case so i don't even know how defendants/representatives/jury/whatever works... ARE DEFENDANTS AND JURY THE SAME THING? THEN WHAT ARE REPRESENTATIVES? let's hope i never get picked for jury duty. i sits over here in my uneducated-in-law-things corner

jury are the ones who decide whether the defendant (the accused) are guilty or not, the representatives are the attorneys so to speak

oh i feel so stupid. i always thought the defendant was on the jury because they defend.. it never really clicked that defendant was the person who defends themselves. the attorney/representatives just stand there and go I OBJECT, basically, don't they? i irons my hands for feeling so dumb

in the real world, in most criminal trials, the defendants don't testify at all. their attorney (representative) pleads their case so that the jury isn't exposed to them at all directly

the defendants are the accused, like lindsay lohan whenever she goes to court is a defendenat. a jury is a group of your peers that listen to evidence to determine whether or not you are guilty. representatives are lawyers for the defendant, a prosecutor is a lawyer for the organization accusing the defendant of the crime. DOES THAT MAKE SENSE TO YOU ANON?
