10. AGE & BIRTHDATE 25, April 10, 1954

14. BACKGROUND & PAST Janice Branston and Theodore Boardman were once The Picture-perfect Couple at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A halfblood Gryffindor girl and a muggleborn Ravenclaw boy; one is a proud prefect of her house, the other a Captain of his House Team. They were the two people who were just destined to be together, and there had been no doubt in everyone's mind even then where the two were going to end up: marriage. A year after graduation, Janice and Theodore did tie the knot as everyone had predicted, though it was a as sweet a joining as everyone had hoped. Janice's conservative family did not support the engagement, thus disowning her when she chose to pursue her heart. Because of this, the two were forced to live on their own, though not without the support of Theodore's well-off family. For a time, they were fine with such an arrangement. They built a decent home in an apartment at the heart of London, England. Theodore, born and raised as a muggle, did not have any problems in adapting to the muggle life. Being a lover of cars and bikes, he took a job at a Auto Repair shop a good drive away from his home, while the wife stayed at home. The position paid well, so even though he went home covered in grease and smelling of rubber, he always has the thought of seeing his beautiful wife at the end of the day to look forward to. It had seemed as if life was almost perfect then, that nothing could possibly mar the spotless picture they had built together, especially with little Stuart on the way, too. Life was good.

On April 10th, the year 1954, Stuart Ashley was born into the Boardman household. He was a rather thin baby even then, but he was alive and everyone was happy. That was all that mattered.

It was during Stuart's first birthday however, when everything changed in the Boardman home. Theodore got in a motorcycle accident one night while he was on his way home from overtime. Devastation wracked the family when they had received word of the accident, and the day that was supposed to be a celebration of life became a time for mourning over a loss.

Janice was a strong woman, tough-willed and determined. She could have easily fallen into despair over the loss of her husband, could have turned away from the baby in the cradle in the corner of her room who looked so much like his father. But she chose not to. Days after the short and quiet funeral, Janice and Stuart moved to Theodore's parent's home in Surrey. Grandpa Kenneth and Grandma Elena helped in taking care of little Stuart while Janice had taken a job at the nearby Apothecary. Her pay was good, and was thankfully just enough to provide for all of them. It was the least she could do.

Stuart, as a child, was such a fragile little thing. He was quiet and almost constantly scared of things, the sort who would catch a cold with the slightest drop of room temperature. Because of this, he had become very dependent to the three people in their home for a time and highly weary of new characters, crying and struggling when people came over to coo over him in their home. This dependence gave way for him to spend more time with his seniors however, especially with Grandpa Kenneth- though it was to Grandma Elena the nickname "stubby Wubby" should be credited to. The older man had a room in the house dedicated to perhaps the most massive record collection Stuart can ever see, and he has grown to be Stuart's biggest influence in music. Grandpa Kenneth and young Stuart were once caught in the Living Room rocking out to Elvis Presley's 'Jail House Rock' one Sunday afternoon, when the notorious pair thought the women had left for tea. Music became a huge part of Stuart since then, and singing to The King's tunes allowed him to discover that singing was actually fun. Other early influences included Danny and the Juniors, Fats Domino, The Drifters and The Everly Brothers.

Janice is perhaps Stuart’s biggest fan then, and perhaps will be until the end of time. She had always supported Stuart in everything he showed interest in, and this of course included singing above everything else. She dedicated quality time nightly for the two of them to study, while the weekends were dedicated to Janice teaching Stuart how to play the guitar, then later other instruments.

Even though Stubby was raised in a good muggle home, Janice had never deprived him of his magical roots, allowing Stuart to grow exposed to both muggle and magical influences in every aspect of his life. This of course, was shown to the young one without Janice forgetting to teach him the necessary precautions and discretions. After he had gotten over his sickly phase, Stuart was sent to preschool and kindergarten, where he had developed very good social skills early on, spending playtime with a big groups of kids than choosing to colour the books on his own . The only time Stubby's eyes were opened wide to wizardkind however was his first evening in Hogwarts for Witchcraft in Wizardry. He was sorted into Hufflepuff house, where he immediately felt at home and welcome. He survived his early years in school in academic mediocrity- contented in neither excelling nor failing in his subjects. He did, however lead interhouse relations with organizing secret parties and such “illegal” events in the Castle. He was a master of sneak, and he had grown to take pride in the role. His romantic life was also quite active in school , though given that he was not a kiss-and-tell sort of person, he doesn’t go into details with that part of his life.

It was in his third year when he had met Oswald Quirke. It was like magic, despite how corny it sounded. There he was, quietly making his way to the Greenhouse one afternoon, when his ear caught sound of perhaps the most beautiful tunes he has ever heard. Following the sound led him to discover a Gryffindor boy, older than him by years, sitting against one of the tall Maples a guitar in one hand. Out of nowhere words, lyrics just escaped him and he started singing in tune with the other’s music. The other, instantly impressed continued on as he made room for the other to join him. An instant connection was made, and a good foundation for a lasting friendship was established that late afternoon. It was in that same year when Stuart had come to meet the future members of Stubby Boardman and the Hobgoblins. They lived off their lives in school- partied and broken as much rules as they could without getting caught- and after all of them had graduated they had all dedicated their professional lives into their music. They had a good sound, and with the help of very good people, they projected an impressive overall image. Like all bands however, they had to struggle at first. They had to promote themselves and do shows everywhere for exposure, for their music to be heard by as many as they could reach. All of them were genuine in their intentions; it was all about the music for all of them, and this collective wish powered by their dedication was perhaps what led them to success. Soon everyone knew who they were, knew him and knew his name, and they were playing everywhere- in every city across Europe. They attended party after party, and met all sorts of people in the industry. Despite the fame and prestige, however Stuart and his bandmates remained as grounded as they could.

Franzy Dolohov. She was that stunning girl he had met backstage one show. They had instant chemistry and not soon after they hooked up. She was perhaps the longest relationship he has ever had, and he had grown to care for the girl immensely. Given their age differences, Franzy allows him to bring his inner kid out into the surface and it was always a refreshing change to be around someone whom he can just be comfortable with and not have to worry about being judged. They spent most of Stubby’s free time together when they were still in the relationship, going to carnivals and fairs and being complete children while they were still together. Their relationship seemed to start to go downhill however, when Waldo was sent to rehab. It was well-known that Franzy and Waldo did not get along. The fact devastated Stubby for a time so he couldn’t bring himself to be as emotionally invested on the relationship as he used to. But the break-up was not just because of that one reason; other things contributed to it as well. School took her time, and touring took his and communication just became a chore for both parties after a while- unknowing that they do make the efforts but her owls always get mixed with the fanmail. One day, Stubby just felt as if it was just not meant to be somehow, so he met with her, told her how he felt and stopped seeing her altogether, thinking that it was perhaps what was best for the two of them even though he knew that he did posses very genuine feelings for the girl.

Things have recently been odd in the Stubbs World, though he is just taking everything in as they come and solving one obstacle at a time. Tour is still on going, kids. To see more of Stubby Boardman and the Hobgoblins, check your local Prophet for tourdates.

15. APPEARANCE Stubby's cool and laid-back disposition strongly reflects in his exterior. He stands at 6'2 feet tall and hides a built most categorize as thin and lanky underneath his form-fitting robes. His head is crowned with shoulder-length dark brown wavy hair, one that he gives too much attention to at times and his facial features are defined by a contrast of sharp angles and soft curves, a strong jaw and pronounced cheekbones, balanced by expressive hazel eyes and soft thin lips. He was told that he possesses the pointed nose of his Father, though given that he has never seen him even in pictures, he has never proven if the statement held any form of truth in it. His complexion is rather fair, although sometimes looks too pale. He sports a few scars on his face- a small fading gash along the pale skin of his left cheek from a snapped guitar string and a scar just by his upper lip, one that he doesn't ever talk about- not even when bribed.
16. PERSONALITY At first glance, some people immediately assume that they have Stubby Boardman all figured out. He's the lead man of the infamous Stubby Boardman and the Hobgoblins. Like all rockstars, people often make the assumption that he's the sort who constantly parties, drinks and has perhaps taken every illegal substance known to wizardkind. He's the boy who constantly enjoys having the spotlight on his direction wherever he may be and the sort who feels he can render hundreds of adoring fans into incoherent messes with just a charming smile. The glittery shirts and form-fitting trousers, the immaculate hair and rockstar lifestyle, people think already tell everything about him. This of course, is not true.

Stubby Boardman is an artist in his own field, a lover of life and positivity and a free spirit. Confident and charming, he is one who was not born to fade quietly into the background but was destined to stand out, whether on stage or in the middle of a crowd. Carefree and laid-back, he's someone who rolls with the waves of life rather than go against the current. A kid at heart, he doesn't take life too seriously; he is one who merely takes things as they come and never looks too far ahead. He has also grown to be the sort of person who never expects- not from anything or anyone- having developed a huge impartiality to disappointment above everything else since he was very young. Stubby has a constant happy-go-lucky air that surrounds him; his spontaneity and his impulse to join any group prank or take that one shot of mysterious liquid is something most people often find appealing, and to his fans even endearing. He is a rockstar, and he thinks there is nothing wrong in living out the image sometimes. Still, such a trait leads others into making negative conclusions about his personality. They'd consider him as someone who cannot take things seriously at times, or someone who would jump off a cliff if dared to. Though the temptation of doing fun and daring things may be too hard to resist at times, Stubby does possess a mind of his own and he knows how to listen to it when he needs to. He can control his drug and alcohol intake, and would never abuse any substance, his choice to drink and party being mostly to satisfy society's expectations of him than anything else. And given that he feels good when intoxicated, he has no qualms in giving into it. Despite his high tolerance in alcohol, he still takes it in very controlled doses, often resulting to him ending up being the one to take care of the drunken ones, not the one being taken care of.

A lover of music since he was born, Stubby's a true right-brainer, more creative than analytical, disorganized and impartial to order to the core. Never would anyone see his room spotless or organized, but he's far from being a slob. He's just... a guy and he merely enjoys a little creative chaos for he says it 'stimulates the flow of awesomeness', and he strongly believes said flow is needed for him to be able to create the most most-blowing tracks for their next album. His musical talents extend to playing both the guitar, drums and bagpipes.

Stuart's name literally means 'a steward', but Stubby doesn't consider himself a leader. He's more of a follower in his head, given that he knows he takes directions splendidly and performs in the best of his abilities when instructed well. This is more because he doesn't feel too good in telling people what to do, in fear of coming out being too imposing or bossy, which he knows he truly isn't. He does however, feel a little less hesitant when he is in a group meeting, or 'leading' with someone like Oswald. He believes he can be a good teacher however, being someone who is patient and enjoys the feeling of fulfilment in helping others.

Like a true Hufflepuff at heart, he is most loyal to his family and friends, and though he might be the sort who can effortlessly adapt to his environment and quickly gain friends in his social network, he only treasures a chosen few. Being in the business, he had discovered that it was fairly difficult to find people he could trust, so when he does find them, he makes sure to keep them as close as he could. Due to recent fame, Stubby has grown weary to make new connections, though because of the tough business he is constantly obligated to socialize. Naturally charming and witty, Stubby has no troubles in mingling in parties, though has grown constantly guarded and rather reserved about his personal engagements when asked. He is socially minded, but is highly critical of society, having crossed one too many reporters from tabloids who would just love to witness him mess up. He avoids such circumstances as much as he could; he doesn't like being forced into such vulnerable positions. After social affairs, he merely chills back in his living room and hangs out with his bandmates. To his close friends, Stubby is known for having a good ear and a good heart for advice. His mother has taught him well, of course. He is mostly an empathetic person. Whenever someone shares with him a problem, he often literally could feel his chest hurt for his friend. He does not mind this simple fact, however, as long as he could see them feeling better after they talk to him. In his spare time, he enjoys spending his free time from work with his girlfriend- if he has one at the time- and visiting his mother in the countryside.

Women are perhaps Stubby's weaknesses, though not in the way that most would think. Growing up living with only his mother, Stubby is a complete Mama's Boy, and he is completely unashamed of such a thing. With this, he has learned to place women in very high regard and develop the utmost respect for them. He's the sort who would see everything that's beautiful in the women who come in his life, and would constantly feel the urge to express his appreciation somehow. He likes the feeling of making them happy and making them feel appreciated, making him come off as a flirt to most. This is perhaps why he has a good relationship with his adoring female fans. Though often times he may be seen with a few girls backstage, when in a relationship, Stubby is a one-woman man. He has a natural tendency to be attracted to females with strong dominating personalities however which ends up with him being the submissive one in the relationship. This, combined with Stuart's incapacity to stay mad at someone for too long, often ends up with him being taken advantage of without him realizing it. He just feels as if he could not hold grudges for too long even if he tried, knowing there should never be any room for negativity in one's life. Once an apology has been given, he would almost immediately accept it.

Stuart has recently adopted a kitten from one of the causes the band supports even though he’s usually a dog person. He named the cute thing ‘Red’ because of the color of its fur. His mannerisms include biting his nails when nervous and blushing profusely when embarrassed. Stuart is a closet lover of literature, specifically poetry and his greatest fears include rats, heights and the death of his loved ones. He is highly impartial to vegetables and anything spicy, but immensely enjoys the taste of sweets, especially ice cream.
17. PLOT IDEAS Stubby has recently ended a relationship with Franzy. He would be interested in building a friendship with her, as long as she is open to this as well. However, Stubby is currently interested in finding a new girlfriend, after seeing Franzy move on. Still, Stubby Boardman and The Hobgoblins is his top priority and this of course includes the members of the band.
He is also interested in meeting new people and strengthening his relationships with old school friend and acquaintances.
