The fact that the screaming started before the young lady transformed kept the situation from turning into one of those messy Heroic Misunderstandings. The girl also just seemed to radiate goodness.
"Ah-hah! So there is EVIL afoot! Well then, ruffians, prepare to face justice, at the mighty hands of VARON - THE HYPER-TEEN!"
Taking care to remember how fragile these Earthlings tend to be, Varon moves forward and merely flicks the forehead of one of the gunmen.
"Be at ease, fair and fellow champion of justice! Varon and his allies always prevail against evil!" He gives, in his mind, a dashing grin to the young heroine.
