Varon nods emphatically. "Oh yes. Surely you must possess some measure of it yourself. Otherwise how could you work with the--" he stops himself, lest anyone be listening, "--your friends, and not ever live in a constant state of paranoia? Never knowing when they might grow too wary of your lineage and scientific acumen and believe you need to be locked away for your own good before you attempt to conquer the world in a fit of rage."

He smiles. "I don't think you'd do that."

Not so long as he's around, anyway, to keep him on the straight and narrow.
