Corner Conway, Head of Aurors, was named the next Minister of Magic by the Wizengamot late Christmas Day. Alastor Moody has replaced him as Head Auror. The decision was one of the quickest in the Ministry's history, but with Wizengamot members Amelia Bones and Tiberius McLaggen heading the campaign for Conway, it seems that during this time of war the Ministry is now looking toward leading their citizens in a offensive manner rather than the defense strategies Minister Vervalsing was supporting.
"Best damn thing that could've happened to this place," auror Tomas Booth let out at a congratulatory party in the offices. "The Boss, as we like to call him--he is going to make things happen."
Conway's first action as Minister was to put the highly controversial M.A.G.I.C. Act under Wizengamot review. Ms. Bones has been very vocal on the unlawfulness of some aspects of the Acts, and is bringing to the attention of the board. More information about Conway's life can be read on page 4A... |
Wood Takes Healer-in-Chief |
Mark Wood has accepted the position of Healer-in-Chief at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical after Doug Houser resigned after the death eater attack this past Saturday. Unlike the Minister conferences, this decision was unanimous and made in a short hour-long conference.
"He was a leader when our community was struggling," Chief Resident Santiago Cervantes commented, "It is amazing to see a muggleborn run this hospital for the first time in nearly a century, it is a remarkable feeling."
Wood has been at St. Mungo's for eleven years, heading the Artifact Accidents ward for over a year and a half. |
