WITH THE NEW QUIDDITCH SEASON UPON US it is of course a reminder to all quidditch fans, especially those of the Caerphilly Catapults that the anniversary of the tragic death of the famous Chaser Dai Llewellyn approaches. June 30th will mark the ten year anniversary of the exciting player's death, when he was fatally attacked by a chimaera while on holiday in Mykonos, Greece with his youngest daughter, Carys, who now fills his position as the right-pitch starting Chaser on the Catapults. The famous photo shown above is the last picture taken of Dai and was found on the scene of the attack after his daughter showed up at the hotel lobby reporting him missing.
This special issue of Snitch! is dedicated to the amazing career of this unforgettable player, whose reckless and foolhardy style of play has made him a legend among legends. We interview Kennilworthy Whisp, the author of the biography based on Llewellyn's life that will hit bookstores this Tuesday. We also have exclusive interviews with Llewellyn's widow, Antonia, who famously gave his eulogy on the pitch of Caerphilly stadium, and two oldest daughters, Arwen Barbary and Brynna Pritchard. An insight on his youngest, and most famous daughter Carys is also included, as she could not be reached for an interview. |
