The Weekend Quidditch Report!

Bats vs Wasps*
210 - 60

A nearly three hour match ended in a tussle for the snitch. Seems like Captain Bagman's aggressive ways have been rubbing off on his teammates, even though he didn't seem very happy to see that his seeker didn't come out with the snitch. Shouts were heard questioning Quigley's loyalty (Quigley was a Bat for seven long seasons).
Catapults* vs Wanderers
230 - 40

All eyes were on Caerphilly this weekend; how with the reconstructed Catapults start the season? It looks like the team had managed to pull together, or at least veteran Griff Kirkham (and former captain) made sure to impress. Allowing only four goals during the two and a half hour match, the Catapults won, even if their new captain Carys Parkin (as her jersey says now), looked nauseous the entire time.
Cannons* vs Tornados
150 - 180

Even though the Cannons lost the match as per usual, the Chudley stadium was roaring as if they'd won the cup. The first snitch catch for the team since Galvin Gudgeon left the team in 1979 was produced by their late season acquisition, Matt Summerby. Looks like he's been working on some moves while riding the Wanderer's bench for so long!
Falcons vs United*
60 - 210

The Falcons are known for their brutality, and they were in full force Sunday night. But was it really a wise idea to take out any pent up off-season rage on the United? Twenty-four fouls were committed in the match, with Finn McLaggen's squad producing fourteen of them. It seems like the United are taking no prisoners in their quest for the cup this season.
Harpies vs Pride*
40 - 200

After a dismal year last season and the surprising stepping down of Captain Lufkin, the Pride burst onto the pitch. Seeker Arista Sykes made her quickest snitch catch of her career, and looking not only excited about it, but rather surprised. But not more surprised than the near-shambles team of Holyhead.
Kestrels* vs Magpies
220 - 70

The defending champs took on their predecesors, and let the rest of the league know that they are quite sure of their repeating skills. The Magpies have been very shaken in the last week with the loss of their longtime chaser and keeper, and it wasn't a surprise that captain and seeker Odette MacFarlan seemed a bit at a loss of what to do.

There were many uncalled fouls in our match.

You'd think someone with your experience would recognize that referees often don't catch everything. Or anything if you pay them off

I did recognize this, that's why I made the comment.

There were also many uncalled fouls that worked to our advantage before you failed prior to the snitch being caught. I just find it interesting, is all.

Interesting? Should I be upset about things working for our advantage?

No, the referees are doing their job to make things appear fair after all.

10 fouls in one game alone is rather pathetic.

Sounds like you lot are slipping to me. Ten would never have been an acceptable number when I was on the team.

That's not the Falcon spirit we all know and love! Bash some heads into the goal posts! Steal a beaters bat and go to town! There are ways around this pesky keeper business.

It was an accident, BUT I WILL TAKE IT Yes, I certainly feel it is the Pride's year, this year.

Celebratory drinking date? Clearly if it's the Pride's year, you should start it off on the right foot.
