After an extremely disappointing season, Wigtown Wanderers have announced they are cleaning house. In a statement to the press, the spokesperson for the team said finishing last was unacceptable, and it was time to shape up or ship out. First to go the Seeker, who caught a dismal seven snitches this past season. Their replacement? Well that has a few eyebrows raised here at our offices.

Not only are they bringing Kendall Broadmoor aboard to be their starting seeker, they are appointing him to be Captain and lead the team into a new direction. Don’t get us wrong, Broadmoor has proved himself to be an excellent seeker, he wouldn’t have a Championship with the Kestrels if he weren’t capable, but the question lies in his consistency. Were the Wanderers watching a different season than us last year? His record wasn’t much better than their previous seeker's. Not catching a single snitch in the last six games he played and having to sit out three games after that disastrous incident where he managed to get hit by a bludger by his own teammate.
Wanderers' management say that they have complete faith in their decision. ”Broadmoor has the attitude we are looking for, and that matters more than poor stats from such a small section of time. Overall, we couldn’t have found a better pick.” Here’s to hoping their gamble pays off well in the next season.
Broadmoor has his work cut out for him and let us be the first to say that we will be keeping a close eye on him during this upcoming season. |
