"Well a wise man says it's better to have and not need than to need and not have." Jason says, making sure the car is locked. Once that's done, he walks her to the door of the dance hall, where the doorman recognizes him immediately.
"Jason Landon, as I live and breathe! How are you?" the man asks. Then his eyes turn to Sammy and Sammy's dress.
"Wow, Miss. I think you've just put every other woman in this building to shame." the doorman says.
"Sammy, this is my friend Marcus Donovan." Jason says. "Marcus, this is my girlfriend Sammy. She's visitin' from out of town and fancies herself a dancer. I'm testin' the theory."
Marcus lets them in, ahead of the long line.
"When you've got an answer, report back. I'd like to know if she passes the test." Marcus smiles.
