Jason looked at Sammy sadly. Her brother made her do the last thing on earth she wanted to do, which was help /his/ brother and he'd used Jason to force her into it. He felt like this whole thing was his fault. Did Sammy resent him for that, deep down?
"I'm okay, baby." he says, trying not to worry her further. Yes, his vision was blurry and a little shaky, but there was no use in upsetting her.
"I just wanna take you somewhere far away from all this." Jason says, not looking at Jake. He can't. Joy at seeing his brother didn't negate the tension he could feel in the room right now.
"Are you okay? Where's that jerk that told the goons to crack my noggin'?" Jason asks.
