Charles Mason Vaisey;
Basics.
NICKNAMES: Charlie, or other random names. Charles really doesn't mind.
AGE: 17
BIRTHDAY: October 29th, 1980
HOUSE: Slytherin
BLOODLINE: alleged pureblood
WAND: 9" Willow, Dragon heartstring
SEXUALITY: Heterosexual
PB: Tom Sturridge

Personality.
Despite most not knowing the fact, Charlie is first and foremost, a dreamer. He has goals and aspirations, and one of his largest fears is that he will not attain what he wants in life. He’s very quiet about his thoughts, and also very alien to others. People don’t generally remember Charlie as someone that stands out in a crowd, rather as the quiet easy going guy that tries to please everyone. Charlie thrives on acceptance, and sometimes keeps his thoughts on certain things quiet, in order to try to please his peers. Even though Charlie presents himself as a people pleaser, he does maintain his own thoughts on certain issues, and he will stand up for what he believes in if necessary.

Charlie is very short tempered when it comes to people criticizing him. He is very self-centered, and while he does realize he has faults, he does not appreciate people pointing them out to him. He cannot stand the thought of people thinking little of him, or disliking him for some reason. He constantly needs reassurance in whatever he does. However, people rarely see this side of Charlie, he often plays his cards so that people will accept him. He surrounds himself with friends that accept and like him to protect from the thought of people disliking him. As long as he does have some sort of support base to cancel out the negativity, Charlie is content.

Charlie enjoys playing Quidditch, although he doesn’t feel the need to make it a priority in his life. He has a natural talent when it comes to being a chaser, and is on the Slytherin team, and has always enjoyed playing the sport and flying in general. One of the things Charlie is most proud of is how he excels at Transfiguration Potions. He’s a decent student in mostly all of his classes, the only trouble subject that he has is The Study of Ancient Runes, because he doesn’t always have the best memory. This is possibly due to the fact that he’s been hit in the head by a bludger more than once. Charlie is very forgetful when it comes to certain things, and has also been known as a procrastinator when it comes to any homework or essays. He however, always gets the job done in time, and gets a fair grade.

Charlie can be very sarcastic, almost to a fault. Most of the time people either ignore this or join in. He can be a very amusing person to be around, and people feel comfortable in being around in. They often feel like they can confide in Charlie, and despite the fact that he’s a Slytherin, he is very loyal to his friends and those that are close to him. He will, however, make sure that his needs are placed above others' needs.

Charlie has an addictive behavior. Once he finds something that cures his boredom he engrosses himself in it until he finds something else that catches his attention. Whether at the time it’s Quidditch, studying, or simply spending time with a certain person, it becomes one of Charlie’s fascinations.

History.

Charlie was born on a cold day in October to a young witch by the name of Ademia Burby, who shortly departed after his birth. She was the niece of Harold T. Vaisey, who took Charles and raised him as his own along with his wife Minna C. Vaisey. Ademia was not a welcome addition to the family tree by any means, and was largely disregarded by her pureblood family, although Harold was always welcoming to the young troubled girl, and both he and Minna were delighted to have a young child after many years of not being able to conceive. Charles Mason Vaisey soon became their one true delight in life, a healthy baby boy, with dark hair and bright blue eyes, who was quick to learn as well as humble. Harold and Minna never questioned the validity of their son’s blood, and Ademia was no where to be found, as though the poor soul had disappeared from the face of the earth.

Charlie was use to being by himself throughout his childhood; Harold Vaisey was often busy with his job at the Daily Prophet, and Minna Vaisey would always have some social event to attend. It wasn’t as though his parents didn’t care for him; in fact it was quite the opposite. They just had certain things to attend to, and Charlie certainly didn’t mind spending time alone. Although, worried for her son’s interaction with other children, Minna often would try to find friends for Charlie to spend time with. Charlie’s friends were often his parent’s co-workers sons or daughters, some of them attending Hogwarts, others transferring to either Beauxbatons or Durmstrang. Charlie would often remember only one acquaintance in particular, Melanie Roberts. They had only spent time together for a few weeks at most, Charlie had visited her house and Melanie had loaned him her basket ball after both of them had played the game together. His father didn’t approve of muggle sports or the fact that Melanie was exposing Charlie to them in the slightest, and suddenly Charlie and Melanie were no longer allowed to be friends. Charlie eventually forgave his father, as he found a new broomstick on his bed the next day, an ill guised attempt by Mr. Vaisey to encourage his son to play Quidditch.

Charlie accepted the fact that there were some things that he could not convince his father of, and simply dealt with it. He was after all, expected to be in Slytherin, and when the time came the sorting hat sorted Charlie into his father’s house of choice after much consideration. Charlie would never tell anyone how close he was to being sorted into Ravenclaw. Charlie went about school like any other student, excelling at Potions, Transfiguration, and other subjects. He is somewhat popular, and well liked. He gained the position of Chaser on the Slytherin Quidditch team in his fifth year and has enjoyed playing. He’s not entirely sure of what he aspires to do after Hogwarts, and is often upset at himself for this. He has thought of possibly writing for the Daily Prophet, although this has more to do with his love of writing more than the fact that his father works there.
