1. One of Doom's business arrangements had yielded a son. Amora had finally decided it was time Doom pitched in. And so Doom had returned to the castle that afternoon with a boy of seven. And as Kristoff cleaned up and prepared for dinner, he tried to keep himself prepared. If Doom gave the child his chair, he would deal. The boy was his master's son. His real son.
2. Kristoff entered the dining hall to find Doom in his seat, the child at a new one... and his own place at Doom's right hand empty. Doom managed to detect the hint of surprise on Kristoff's face. "There is no reason the regent of Latveria should be marginalized by his younger brother," Doom says simply, sipping his wine.
Devel, Kristoff loved him so much.
3. Doom was still much occupied and away often, so Vincent's upbringing was left mostly to Kristoff. Who sent him to his magically-warded room the first time he violated Hans the footman's mind. Trying to circumvent this by manipulating Kristoff's proved....unwise.
4. Nevertheless, Kristoff was a caring older brother and tutored and talked with Vincent whenever he had a spare moment from national affairs.
5. While he did not destroy the memory encoding equipment in the basement, because the issues of last year had illustrated that it could be necessary, he did disaseemble it and put the components under separate lockdown.
