"You could have done something. When you said let them go ahead I didn't think you meant like, twenty minutes," Jenny replied softly, though she was still smiling. "You know I worry," she warned. It was true, but tonight she just wasn't sure what she was so worried about. It just felt like something was off, or going to be off.

It took her a few moments before she realized that the younger girl was holding something rather blatantly behind her back. "Is that my present?" she gasped, a little more excited than she planned to let on. Struggling to crane her neck around her girlfriend and get a peek at the box, she automatically smiled back at the brunette.

"It'll look even better on the floor later if you got me something really good," she joked, poking the taller girl roughly in her stomach. It didn't really matter what Sera had actually gotten her, or even how much it cost. It really only mattered that it was from her girlfriend, and that made it special. It even had her momentarily distracted from the down feelings she had been having.

"I know, I'm sorry." The brunette pouted slightly, kissing Jenny on the cheek. "I just wanted to make sure they were gone. You know your mom I figured she'd be chatting them up for hours." Even if Jenny was still smiling and didn't seem too upset, Sera still really hated to make her worry.

Sera wasn't quite sure why she was bothering to hide the present behind her back, she knew it would only be a matter of time before Jenny noticed it and besides it wasn't like the blond didn't know she was getting a present. Sera had already half ruined the surprise, just too excited to contain herself, and had to fight the urge the rest of the week to just give it to her early.

She wasn't quite sure what encouraged her to buy the ring in the first place but it just seemed kind of perfect when she saw it. She had planned on it being for Christmas but that was just way to far away. She pulled the box out from behind her back, kind of nervous like, for her anyway, when Jenny questioned her. She really hoped she liked it.

"Umm yeah it is actually." She blushed slightly holding it out to her. She wasn't quite sure why though, she hadn't been this nervous around Jenny in a really long time. Her hands were even kind of sweaty. Jenny's joke didn't help, in fact it made things a whole lot worse. Now her lower stomach was kind of flipping too and she had to shake off the thought of watching Jenny's dress drop to the floor.

"I hope you like it, and it like fits and everything." Sera added, trying her best to act normal but still kind of failing.

"Calm down," Jenny encouraged the brunette, cracking a smile and looking down at the box as her girlfriend held it out to her. "You're acting like your sister," she teased her gently, reaching out and gingerly taking the ring box from the other girl's grasp. It already wasn't looking like what she had expected, but her interested was definitely caught.

It was rather adorable how nervous the brunette was, and Jenny chewed her lip slightly, trying to avoid eye-contact as she slowly open the box and peered inside. Just a few seconds later, she gasped even louder than before, reaching over and grabbing Sera's arm and squeezing it.

"Oh babe," she managed to get out, looking up at the younger girl and then back to the ring. "You're not proposing, are you?" she half-joked. Charlie had been the only other person to ever give her a ring, and that had been a whole other ordeal.

"I know shit." The brunette laughed trying to shake off her nerves a bit, she really was acting like her sister but she couldn't understand why.

She took a deep breath, holding her hand out on top of the box gently for a moment before letting Jenny open it. "..It's just I really care about you Jen.. like more than I ever cared about anyone." She blushed a bit but did her best to brush it off. "I just wanted wanted to get you something to show you how much you mean to me, I guess." She smiled, kissing Jenny once on the forehead before taking her hand on the box.

The few seconds it took Jenny to actually open it seemed like forever to Sera. She held her breath, not even realizing she was doing it until Jenny gasped, when she finally let it out. Atleast she seemed to like it, Sera thought, unable to help from smiling.

"No I wasn't." She laughed, grinning down at her shorter girlfriend, when she looked up at her. "I mean not really.. Kinda. I mean I would .. Like if we weren't still in high school, and that wasn't crazy."

She couldn't help but giggle a bit even at herself, she sounded kind of like stuttering fool, this really wasn't how she pictured this going. "Fuck I dunno what's wrong with me tonight, I normally can't shut up." She giggled again, wrapping her arms around Jenny in a big hug. Just feeling the blond in her arms instantly helped to calm her down a bit. "You're just to cute I guess, you got me all twisted up or something." She pulled her in tighter and kissed her neck.

"You like it though right?" She asked sweetly, pulling back from Jenny just enough to look her the eyes. "You should try it on."

She barely heard what Sera was saying as she examined the ring closely, taking it gently out of the box but keeping a tight grip on it as she turned it over in her hand. "It's the thought that counts," she giggled back quietly, scooting closer to the younger girl and letting her arms wrap around her. Everything about the hug immediately made her feel safer and warmer.

"I know you would if we could.. maybe someday, if you're good," the blonde went on, lifting her head a bit to look at the brunette. She scrunched up her face at being called cute, sticking her tongue out. "I'm not even the cute one, I tell you all the time! You don't ever need to be nervous around me," she replied easily, her eyes closing slowly as Sera kissed at her neck, making her feel like she was melting a little. "You can always be yourself around me, entirely. I'd die if you turned into a nervous wreck like your sister, I love a sexy confident girl," she giggled.

"I love it," Jenny agreed quickly, looking at Sera closely when the youner girl pulled away. With the ring still held in her hand, she stepped back a bit and carefully slid it onto her finger, holding her hand out in front of her with all of her fingers spread. "How does it look? Good?" she asked, holding her hand up to her girlfriend for her to look more closely.
